Audi A3 Black Edition Delivery Times 2011

I ordered a 1.8TFSI black edition last week and was told il get it by Oct which is awesome..

My current Audi was late, and I sold my car for the date I was originally given. Day came round and no Audi. Audi offered to pay for bus fares as comp... Obviously didn't accept that, in the end I was given a new A4 avant which had just come in as a run around until mine arrived 3 weeks later. :)
 
It has come to the time now where i will be picking mine up monday/Tuesday next week, so a ridiculously excited about it. Seems like it was forever ago that i ordered it but the wait is nearly over :)

Ordered my new A3 Oct 09` and the wrong spec car arrived in Jan 10`... Re-ordered and another wait of 13 weeks,great service..
At least they appologised..F*@# wits

I finally picked mine up yesterday and my god was it worth the wait, such a head turner and the power is just unreal. Sorry to hear that coxy when I went to get mine yesterday the salesman kept calling it the 140 one but I ordered the 170 so I questioned it a few times and feared that they had got the order wrong, but there was no doubt when I got it on the road. Good luck though and I hope they sort that out for you soon.
 
Ill get some up as soon as i can take some decent ones, im enjoying it far too much atm haha but pics will follow soon ;)
 
Ordered mine in early May, and third week in October 2011 feels like a lifetime away. Nealry half way through the wait, but given the amount I've seen on the road in the last few weeks they must be churning them out.

Waiting for a new is like pulling teeth, was only saying on another forum the other day that it takes so long that by the time they turn up they all to often have been updated / facelifted!
 
Just thought you guys should know, ordered my Ibis White A3 fully loaded (factory) on June 27th and is gonna be here for Aug 30th .... So they say!!:uhm:

Agreed - ordered mine early April and still have no build date from Audi (despite chasing). Still being told October delivery?
 
Hi guys,

I kind of want a second opinion on whether I am right to be feeling hard done by.

I ordered my new Audi A3 SB Black Edition Quattro on 5 February. Order form states delivery is 29 June. This was pushed back to mid July about 2 weeks after I ordered it. Not too bad. Could cope with that. But in May I was told that there are severe delays and I cannot now expect delivery until sometime in November/December!

I understand the tsunami means there are problems with the paint supply but I've still not even been given a build date. They refused to give me a courtesy car for the six (or more!) months wait and have offered only £500 off the price as compensation. No extras on the kit or anything. Am I being unreasonable or are they taking the mick?!

They are taking the Mick; and whilst I get the 'world' issues faced (paint etc.), it's the way they do it, and the fact they just expect you to roll over and go "fine, as long as it takes". There should be a ruling where waiting times are extended that long that you can get deposit back in full and go elsewhere. With some of these lengthy delays you could end up with an out of date car, or something that is face lifted (and maybe you no longer like). Rubbish. 5 months wait for us is unbearable, so feel for you.

I understand your pain bud.

I have agreed that my car goes back on the 1st of October and if my new one has not arrived by then I will be getting a courtesy car until it does. I checked on there system and I have been given build week 48 (not yet code 20 - this means unconfirmed)

But I made sure as part of the agreement I get a cover car.

Remember to check the back of the A3 brochure. It says they will provide a car if you do not get your car when delivered (or something along those lines).

My advice is to go and have a chat, if you aren't happy with the response speak to the sales manager and if you are not happy with that then speak to Audi UK (they provide the courtesy cars anyway)
 
Definetly ask for a courtesy car as it is there policy to give you one if the order is delayed, I asked them when mine was delayed and showed them the back of their brochure stating this fact and got them to ring Audi HO and ended up with a loaner for 5 months.
 
Just been quoted "January/February" - sounds like they're just quoting longer expected times to avoid having to supply courtesy cars now. You only get a courtesy car if your delivery has been pushed back by more than 5 weeks from what you were originally told.

I've spoken to Audi UK and they weren't interested in providing a courtesy car. Ordered 27th March 2011, scheduled build is showing 26th March 2012. Jokers.

So if they extend the build date of your car to some ridiculous date, it saves any need to give you a hire car, and they look like they over deliver if it comes slightly early. Audi being Audi will believe as your buying into a 'premium' brand you will put up with it as basically they are doing you a favour just letting you own one of their exceptional cars!
 
Ordered mine (company car a3 sportback 140 black edition) end July been told DEC 20th but no "real" date from the factory yet, when should i expect that?


anybody in our firm who's car has been delayed is getting an "audi demo" providing the lease has run out on there existing car from Audi Uk

This is similar to me.

I agreed with Audi that they could have my current Audi back on 1st October (This was the original build time i was given when i ordered in July) As i mentioned I have a non code 20 build date of week 48 (Middle of Nov). My car is still going back on the 1st of Oct, so they kinda have to give me a temporary car until mine arrives.
 
Yesterday I ordered an A3 Black Edition (White, 5dr, 2.0TDI 170ps, quattro, sunroof, comfort pack, h/seats, tyre pressure, storage pack) and was told that delivery would be mid-November. This is because they had a car coming through to stock so a couple of months was knocked off the lead time. This wasn't the exact spec on the card (it had black/silver leather seats but I didn't want them), I changed it after I was told that it would not affect the November delivery date. I'm a bit dubious about that but should get confirmation next week. A car spec'd to my exact requirements would have been delivered Jan '12 and even then the dealer reckoned it was limited availability. Initially I didn't want White or the sunroof but I managed to get a decent deal and I am basically not paying for the sunroof or the AutoGlym, which is probably not worth paying for anyway but I'm far too lazy to get it done aftermarket, storage pack and tyre pressure monitor.
 
been told mine now gone back to late Jan, really thinking of ordering a bmw!:scared2:
 
Just ordered the below and been given a build week of week 7 2012... expected to be with me mid-March. 7 months? It's a fairly high volume car, Audi, what the hell are you playing at?

I don't NEED a car, so I can wait for it - but if they put it back then I'll be getting my deposit back and going elsewhere... I could've driven home in a top-spec Focus with all the trimmings today.

Similar situation with me, but the lease company themselves have provided a pool car. I still have a December date from my order in May.

Spoke to my dealer today and have been given a build week for 1st week in Novemeber... Was meant to be delivered on 1st October. Sad times

I've had opposite - Orignally told to expect delivery in november, but got call last week saying delivery now estimated for end september :) yahooo!

Thought I'd give an update - after reading about the delays I rang my fleet dept this week to find out if it was worth cancelling my order
and choosing something else. The latest update from the Audi dealer was showing mid nov build with delivery expected mid dec. He
said this applied to the 3 door which is what I've ordered but had it been a sportback it was showing build mid dec. I've decided to keep it
on order instead of looking for something different. My order was placed 1st week of June and I was originally quoted end dec. Apparently Audi have told my company that as time goes on the delays are getting better but I'm not holding my breath!

Brand new member to this forum, so thought I would put my ten pennies worth in, as I read this thread with interest...

Ordered my A3 Black Ed 1.8TFSI Sportback in Ibis with Opensky,leather,comfort on 25th of May.

Just been told by dealer this week that unconfirmed build week has been been brought forward a week from wk39 to wk38 and is looking like early Oct for deliery.

I cannot wait - not one of lifes most patient people!!!!! :yahoo:

And those of you that have been brought forward, do you have cloth?

Looks like deliveries are getting worse rather than better then. Ordered mine 1st October 2010 - arrived 25th March 2011. Incidentally this was six days earlier than originally quoted in Oct 2010.

Leather - Yes - ordered mid April. Told mid October ..... now estimated at mid Nov !!
 
Ordered mine on the 29/07/11 and have been told expected date 01/12/11, changed some spec on the 16/08/11
hasn't effected build date. Mine was a dealer order which has been tweaked.
The longer I wait the more I get tempted to keep altering the spec.Hopefully worth the wait!!!!!

My delay appeared on the computer 3 and a half weeks after I made the change :(

Yes - mine has been brought forward by about 6 weeks. I've ordered the standard BE seats...
