There have been a few of those funny eBay ads. Most of them are obvious they are joking though, and i think the best ones are when you can try and keep it realistic enough that you could be telling the truth..

Banned for 3 days is pretty light, considering some of those threads you started up.

yeh lol, its genius. i love the fishing one, and the fish 'its fcuking mint green!' hahaha

Hello people.

I have a question regarding eBay. I am selling my iPhone. Today someone bought it, who has 797 feedback, 100% positive. A guy from scotland apparently. All is good I thought. I then went onto eBay a few minutes back and see he has an extra feedback, so now he has 798. His latest feedback is actually two, but they're from the same seller. Both for identical iPhone 4's, so today the guy had bought 3 iPhones. He has spent £1000 in a day, on iPhones....apparently.

I'm confused now, as I just don't want it to be a scam. I checked Paypal and it says the address is confirmed, payment received instantly, and that it's eligible for seller protection, but i'm sure there will be some ****ty loophole which if I get screwed over will cover their backs and leave me £350 out of pocket.

I know I could contact him, but if by chance he has had his account hacked there's a fair chance they will just reply saying "Oh yes, that's fine, send the phone"

What should I do?! CONFUSED!!! :)

I'd suggest sending it tracked & recorded mail. Also take photos of how it's packaged and the condition before it goes into the box with some proof of date (newspaper etc)
Maybe OTT but just to try and cover yourself as much as you can. Does seem a bit suspect though buying 3 iphones in one day.

yeah mate suspect but!,
your paying by pay pal so your covered! but,
send recorded and keep your proofs of posting,
as soon as your pay pal has recieved his money, transfer immediately into bank,
try and leave your feedback as soon as posted off to him to avoid dispute,

keep all transaction i.d.s written down for easy referance, so you dont have to log on to find them!
good luck dude

ok, thanks for the replies. Just a few things...can paypal take the money out of my bank account? I take it that's why it's easier to put it in my account where it's harder for them to access it?

Proof of posting is a definite, i'll send it special delivery, and keep all the receipts etc. I've screenshot'd ;) the paypal screen with his address on etc, and will take screenshots of all other screens I feel necessary.

Why would leaving feedback quickly help? (that's not a dig, it's a real question, lol)

pay pal can take money out of your bank, but yourselling so why would they? box ticked,
proof of purchase, al;l boxes ticked, rest assured,
leaving feedback immediately shows your legit, nowt to hide, all gone according to plan on your side!
you will be fine, i suspect just a phone trader mate!
paypal is your friend!

Have you been paid? if so send it special delivery then you are covered end of...
when recieved...(next day) log onto royal mail website and print of there signiture...

Yep, he paid instantly, PayPal says it's eligible for seller protection if I send recorded etc and to the provided (confirmed) address.

I'm gonna contact him and see what's what. And possibly even just ask why he's bought 3 in a day. I guess if he's genuine he won't have a problem explaining why he bought them all.

And thanks Joe, I'll definitely keep the receipt and proof of signature etc for 6 months.

Well, i'm 50/50 as to whether it's a bad night, lol. You anywhere near Annan? You could go see the dude and see if he's legit, lol.

Crazy, Annan is 80 miles away from me.

Morning all.

How are things, what have I missed?

Crazy, good luck with the sale mate. I wont sell any thing of high value on ebay.
For the fear of scammers and the amount of money ebay/paypal takes off you.

Sandra, hows the illness and the weather? I think we got some good old scotish rain down here with a bit of thunder and lighting.
I think we are going to get some flooding as well.
My dad is meant to be down this weekend. He should make, he has a big 4x4, just hope nothing happens on the roads.

Half a day again. :D

Morning all, Bank holiday weekend is almost here, the last until xmas what are your plans?

A bit of family time for me, and a propper good chill, got a good few people coming to mine on sat night for some hardcore drinking...

Morning Dave, Scott and westy.

I'll be spending mine stripping the A3 and trying to source a set of rods for the 20v i'm currently rebuilding. Got rain here too:(

and +1 on the ebay thing, i've heard far too many stories to even risk it

morning all :) yes bank holiday can almost smell it now.

about the ebay item crazy i would just make sure you have as much proof of posting as you can, but if hes paying via paypal you should be fine anyway, its propbably legit he might be buying them as company phones for his employies or anything you dunno....

They are good but when i was in best buy a few weeks ago they had a bose set which where better if not the same as them and half the price, i think you just paying for the name really

I had a play with them when I had HQ.
They was attached to the HP beats laptop and the sound was amazing.
So impressive.
But then again this is coming from a guy who listens to 7" records on a 1975 jukebox. lol

morning sandra, feeling any better hun?

Good morning Solly, still no voice, eyes and nose streaming, but my ear is ot so sore. Its bright and sunny so hopefully it will stay that
way. How are you?
