cabriolet problems :(

Deffo a tin top. My 8L s3 derv avant was a targa top but it kept leaking so one day after being sick of seeing the missus looking like she'd entered a wet T shirt comp I welded it up with my bros mig. Only took 10 mins, but then I realised I missed the breazzzzzz through my Billy ray Cyrus mullet so I cut the welds out fitted a couple of hindges i got from B&Q and now I have a flip top

i've done a couple of cabriolet to convertible conversions in the last hour, however having to relocate turbo's is a bit of a pita

ah very good me + you + your knowledge on the convertable/cabriolet/ragtop/tintop/squiqshy/squashy/panaramic roofs = deal?

Could you stick a turbo where the back seats would be on a soft top, for greater air flow?

More flow = more bhp? Or are you classing fart air as warm air? in which case you'd need to fit a heat shield around your passenger seat.

Turbos instead of back seats for increased air flow = Bad idea.

Why? Because air flow would only increase when the person sitting on it farted.

Would also need to install a dump valve, just in case.

Ah you have mis interpreted. I meant turbo's in the back, with no people. Not for them to be used as seats..(seat, for sitting, not: seat, the car manufacturer) If they were for sitting you would need a dump valve, or perhaps just a blow off valve

When talking about the turbo you said "they" (plural). So are you talking bi-turbo?
If so, you can't fit this into a soft-top because soft-tops are gay.

it was a 5door convertible with built in targa. a contargable.
petrol or diesel? that makes all the difference, as the diesel needs a bigger turbo, I have contemplated a leaf blower for mine

yours is a cabriolet though

This man talks sense.

My car needs a service soon, and i might be interested in doing a petrol to octane booster only conversion. Seeing as you are a mechanic, could you PM, or post here if you like, me a quote?

sure thing. as i have only been a mechanic for a week, but still one of the best in the uk, i shall charge an introductory rate of £240 per hour. an octane booster conversion would take me approx 5 hours to do, however to really get the most out of it, id recommend a ko9 hybrid turbo, complete with secondary ddiesel inejection

If you could drop it down to 200 an hour mate, I might be interested.. I have heard there is a k010 coming soon, is it worth waiting for that? Also, is ddiesel better then diesel, or did you mistakenly press the 'd' button twice?

ddiesel, or, double d diesel, is a special fuel i have formulated in my shed (did i forget to mention i used to be a chemist?)
i have a ko10 here, however its only suitable for contargables, which can be arranged at a cost of course.

So if i want a service, a 3.2 v6 diesel with a 2.0tdi petrol engine in the boot, running on ddiesel, with a k010 (which means I'll need the contargables conversion) what sort of price am i looking at.

No you didn't mention you were a chemist, congrats!

was a chemist, until i learnt so much on here about cars like turbos, convertable cabriolets with targa roofs, octane booster conversions and triple turbo ddiesels, then i became a mechanic.

the above service, 3.2 v6s (il throw in a supercharger....because i can) ddiesel with a rear drive 2.0tdi petrol conversion with ko10 turbo chargers and a contargable conversion, your looking at 120 quid all in mate

So anyone can become a mechanic?

Is a super charger as 'super' as it calls itself?

Not sure on that price mate,£135 and we have a deal.

I think it's convertable, as you can use it to put your dinner on when you're not driving it
