That's the DSG 'fart', the 2.0TFSIs have it as well, although sounds much cooler on the 5cyl

I think you're right, think I saw it on top gear or another motoring show. Sure it was the RS3 they were talking about though. I could be wrong though.

The Merc SLS is a prime example of this, watch a video of one downshifting or on the overrun, AMG engineers programmed that in just for the sound effects also.
