Shortshifters - anyone used them/recommend them

Hi, Has anyone had these, and if so did you notice a real difference, and was it worth the money.

Also any recommendations on which ones to get?

Not in A4, but I used an EIP short shifter in my last car (50% reduction in both directions). Took a bit of getting used to, but when you eventually get used to it, it makes gear changing slick and quick. If you loan your car to anyone (e.g. the wife), prpare for gearshifting disasters!

Only other thing I would comment is when the gearbox is cold (esp. in winter), if there is any play or wear in the box / mesh, the external gears at opposing ends (5th / 2nd) can get harder to place as you have less leverage to work with.

On the whole I enjoyed mine, but wouldn't want to put one on an old knackered box.
