Just wondered if the full interior fits from the newer models to the B6 as I'd love to get the B7 leather for my car.

So front seats, rear seats, door cards.

Thank you

Yes it will all fit mate, I have a full rs4 interior in my car which is obviously from a b7.

Avant interior fits into a saloon and vice verse, but the only issue you'd have is if your car has fixed rear seats and the new interior has split folding rear seats, that currently the situation I have which is being sorted at the moment where the rear panel behind the back rest has to be cut out and some welding done for the bracket points, but if they are fixed into fixed, or split folding into split folding then you'll be able to fit it all straight in.

The door cards are interchangeable from avant to saloon and vice verse so no problems there.

And the the front seats are bolt in jobs, if your car is a sport and has the electric lumber support then that's all plug and play as well if the new seats have them too.

Brilliant!
Thank you for the in depth reply saves me keep asking over and over for other bits.

Cheers
Aaron:respekt:

as above
plus if your new trim has full power seats its still plug an play but fuse needs to be changed

Excellent, I've got a sport so have the electric lumbar seats so hopefully I'll get some full power seats then.

Iirc the fuse has to be upgraded to a 30 amp fuse if you fit full power seats. Originally the electric lumbar support fuse is either 10 or 15 amp (can't remember exactly which)

Interesting that!
I have a sport with the fixed rear seats and it's one thing imo that really lets the car down and a rear I always end up taking the A3 out to DIY stores rather than the longer bigger A4.
Is it a big job to weld in the brackets? Any tips/guides?

Split folding rear seats were a £150 option so I've heard.

I have my mate doing the work for me at his bodyshop he owns, I'll get him to take photos if he can and I'll post them up. He's already got the rear panel out from behind the back rest part of the seats and it's just spot welded in, so it's as easy as drilling the spot welds out and the whole panel will drop off effectively. I think he had to cut one part of it.

I managed to get all the fixings with the interior I bought, but the only part you need is a body part which the lower pin brackets bolt onto at the bottom corner of each split seat part (where the back rest slots onto the pins in the bottom corners of the seating area if you see where i mean) you can buy these parts direct from audi at £8 + vat each and I have the part numbers for them. Those parts have to be welded into place as any a4 which hasfixed rear seats won't have these body parts behind the seats from the factory.

Here is a link to my mates bodyshop who's doing the work for me, -

I've been using him to do any body work on my car for years and years and he's the only person I trust to do the work and to look after my car like his own. The picture of the white Toyota Altezza on the above link is my old car I had before my A4. :)

Ok didn't think so. Will just keep an eye on eBay for a B7 interior. Preferably the S4 but I know they're rare.
Cheers

B7 S4 interior is the same as B6 S4 interior to narrow your search down a bit! But yeah as you say S4 or RS4 interiors are hard to come by. I was thinking of selling my full RS4 bucket seat interior so I could put the money towards a new car for the wife, haven't brought myself to doing it tho, am I selfish?? :(

Lol!!

No, your obviously thinking of her comfort too when she is in the car.

I'd obviously love the RS4 interior but think that the S4 interior would be a bit more in my price range.

i just think your been pure selfish
how could you let her down ?
PM me the price and address ill help you out

I would to see some pics of the interior too!

Also what price would you be selling for if you did sell? Obviously you would need a replacement interior as well.

Lol, voltures!!

I really don't know if I would sell it, it's completely transformed the inside of my car massively, everyone comments on how mad the bucket seats are. I just don't think I could be bothered with the hassle of taking it all out and swapping it over with another interior now, plus I'm fussy as to what interior I'd take in p/x, i.e nothing but leather. Then there is the price I'd want, it's worth what ever someone is willing to pay for it. I've seen just the front bucket seats alone sell for £2k on a couple of occasions. But for me it's almost completed my project, just a couple of other bits to upgrade or retrofit in the interior then I can finally say my car is finished.

I haven't got any interior pics yet since it's been in, it's currently at my mates bodyshop having the rear seats fitted (from fixed to split folding) then I'll get it all cleaned up and take some decent photos of it.

I've no interest in buying it! I was just interested in seeing it ;)

Well I had a strong feeling you would James, I was referring more to the others! ;) don't blame them though, it is probably the best mod I've done to the car.

Aye, proper vultures.

Take a S4 interior in px???

I know you meant "they're compatible", but the interiors that are in there are not "the same": they're both different from stock, both compatible with A4, but not really "the same".... just in case somebody read this thread and put a rushed eBay bid on an S4 interior expecting the four-point harness holed recaros, etc:

You've just posted pictures of the optional extra harness bucket seat Recaro's which were only available in the b7 rs4 on the top picture (hence why they have 'RS4' embossed at the top of the seats, which is exactly what I have in my car. And the bottom picture you've posted is the standard Recaro interior found in both the b6 and the b7 S4. This particular Recaro interior was also put in the b7 rs4 as standard fitment named the 'comfort' Recaro interior.

So, as I said, the Recaro interior for in both the b6 and the b7 S4 is exactly the same. ;)

Funnily enough mate I was originally after a cream S4 Recaro interior but couldn't find one for love or money, then the bucket seat interior came up and I couldn't resist, cost me a fair whack more than I originally planned to spend tho.

I'm not bothered about the RS4 interior as it would be way out of my price range. Look forward to the interior pics though Az. My interior is already the split folding version which is a bonus.

I think just standard leather or at a push S4 leather would suit me just fine. I've only had the car for 3months so there are a lot of other bits I want to tidy up/ retro fit to mine yet so I'm fortunately not in any rush.

Az have you still got the black panels that go where the seat belts are,i have finally managed to get the black centre console, steering colunm trim and a glove box, just need the black trims for the sides and i can get that very nice black and red leather interior in, instead of sitting in my front room. Also means a stunning grey leather interior complete with everything will be up for sale soon

Nice plug there Paul! :)

Yes mate I do still have them for you, I'm going to handforth this week, can't remember what day though, think it's towards the end of the week, I'll drop you a text to let you know. Will about the same time as the last time I met you up there, between 1-2pm if you can do that?

Yeah thought i would get that in haha, Az that would be good mate, thanks

You'll have to show some pics of your grey leather interior Pabs.

If I sell my Carlsson's I could well be interested. 

Doesn't look like a split folding rear seat though unfortunatly.

Looks nice though.

They are sport seats, also fixed rear seats, so unfortunately for you Aaron they'll be no good for your avant.

I might be interested in the front seats if they match the rest of my trim (which I think they do).

I'm only after them though, and expect you want to sell complete.

Yeah they are the sports seats, and yes unfortunately they are not split folding. When i finally get around to taking the interior out i would rather sell it complete but if there is no interest i will give you first refusal on the front seats quattrojames..

Hi Guys

How about the other way around?? B6 S4 seats into a B7 A4?

Is there an issue with airbags as the seats have airbags built into the sides (fronts).

I think B7 has dual stage airbags and B6 only single stage. But does this affect the seats??? Also, what about the passenger detector in the front passenger seat???

Been looking extensively into doing this, and i am looking into putting the B6 S4 seats in my B7. I understand the pressurepads have to be swapped in the passenger seats, but is it possible to mount the seat foams and trim from a 60/40 rear bench back onto a fixed one? or do i stand no chance?!

Cheers lads.

Yes, the rear seats can defo be fitted.

The S4 has split folding seats as standard, A4's it was an option. So many A4's (like yours) has fixed (no folding) rear seats.

Now, some work is needed to get them to fit. Side foam sections are not an issue I believe, but the top and/or bottom brackets are.

Someone here can add some detail to this, but the folding seats have a bracket with a pin at the bottom corners which allows them to rotate (drop). Not sure if the A4 has the mounting points for those brackets already or if it needs to be welded in???

Also, at the top when you fold them up they lock in to pins, and these are not present in non-folding A4's so they need to be added. Is that a weld job guys??

Finally the saloon has a metal panel welded on the back, which can be removed to allow the full 'through' feature to load long things through the back of the boot wall and on top of the folded down seats.

The A4 centre headrest also attaches to that metal panel, which is redundant for folding seats as the centre headrest is built into the seats.

Hopefully someone can back this up with a bit more details on what is required for the top and bottom brackets for you...

Thanks for the reply, Yeah I've seen that that is possible, but i was wondering if it was possible to mount the seat foams and trim from a 60/40 rear bench back onto a fixed one? Thus keeping the Fixed seat operation, but having the different colour/leather recaros in their place if that makes any sense?

Hmmm...

Not 100% sure on that one as the brackets are probably different. Plus centre headrest built into rear panel vs into seats definitely different so that would need to come out.

Certainly not simple plug and play, but absoltely it can be done.
