hi nhn,

thanks for your reply.

my car is a 2005 A3 2.0 tdi 140 bhp s line sportback

it alwast turns the car over, just twice it has not caught,

like the car is not getting fuel or the crank sensor is duff (had these problems on other cars)

battery is good, and in my mind starter is good.

would be nice to get it scanned using the proper kit and by someone who knows how to use it.

i am prepared to travel,

in regards to my ruff running at 1300 rpm's is this something that you can monitor while the car is running?

sorry for all the questions, novice on this diagnostic stuff (i wont be shortly when i buy it, but thats another question, where to buy it from ?

if you need to contact me via pm messages so i can get your postcode and/or chat about it further then drop me a message

thanks in advance

Adie

I sell the genuine kit which would be allot more convenient for you as not reliant on others & can use when/wherever you like.

You can monitor many things, could check injection quantities, there are many measuring blocks available to monitor to see if you could trace the issue.

Have you actually done a fuel filter swap as yet?

hi again,

yeah i done the fuel filter and used a injector cleaner as i thought it maybe down to injector quality due to it having 10700 on the clock.

ive read on here about th einjector looms etc and just want to rule that out if poss

had a glow plug fault, when i scanned it with my maxi vag tool, (hand held)that told be that all 4 glow plug had failed, so i cleared that fault an is ok for a while then it come sback every now and then,

i cant rememebr if it was present when it would not start tho

i keep scanning to see if a normal drive chucks up faults.

i just think for ym car to have a ruff running at a certain rev range ie: 1300 rpm it would be fuel delivery problem, i mite chuck another injector cleaner in see if that clears it

its fine after 1300 rpm's

when you say u can scan it for me, is this part of your buisness or are you offering a free help, would be nice ot talk to someone who can sell me the diag gear, keen to get that now and have been for a while

update,

i chucked a whole bottle of redex cleaner premium (think, 15 quid) and took off the pipercross vis induction air filter that was fitted

it has cured,(so far) the running ruff at 1300 rmp's

maybe the ecu/maf jusr did nto like the extra air or maybe th elack of it due to the location of the cone filter deep under the left hand front headlight.

NHN,

i am still very intersted in vcds tho buddy, can you get in contact with me please when u have a spare min

cheers
