Trip Computer - Do I need to Replace whole cluster ?

On my SE I dont have the Trip computer which is a little annoying.

Am I right in thinking the only way to enable this would be to replace the whole unit to one that has the centre computer and also install the stalk as well? Are new units easy to re code with mileage etc?

You do need to change the whole cluster to get the DIS. The mileage can be corrected by audi only if you buy a new one, they are able to recode the immobilizer (well, some of them - others are awkward buggers) but not alter the mileage on 2nd hand units. You would need a 3rd party to do this, I belive its about £120 to do the mileage.

Only if you fill tank, set to zero mileage & then you can manually calculate with mileage done, against the known tank capacity which iirc is 55 litres, when empty.

Where abouts are you located, as I can get it coded in for you & probably supply the parts.

thats waht i thought and im currently doing, oh well! will have to look at how much they are to replace and the stalk etc, im based in Bristol mate
