Guys,

I'm at the end of my tether trying to access the bottom bolt on the t'stat housing, how on earth are you supposed to do it?

Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated before I throw my toys out of the pram!!

Cheers!

So so easy. Where in the country are you?
Undo the battery negative terminal, remove the main wire going to the alternator, get a knuckle joints on a 1/4 ratchet and it's 15, 20 minutes work...

Guys thank you for the assistance. 1/4" set was the deal clincher, managed to do it, so it's now all done. Took her for a spin for 30 mins and she heats up right bang on 90C and the mpg should be a bit better now too.

Thanks again!! :)

I need to do the stat on the track car too, but I've been putting it off for weeks!

Since i realised I needed to do the stat, I've done the following:

Fitted 12 point roll cage
Fitted new seats
refitted gearbox and clutch
changed driveshafts
Painted interior and roll cage

But I'm still putting off changing the stat, because it's a hateful job!

it is a right fiddly job, but I reckon it wouldn't be so bad a second time around...not that i'm hoping to have to do it anytime soon!!
