Can any body recommend a cycle carrier for an s3

honestly I always prefer to stick mine in the back these days in it's bag. If i am forced to stick it on a rack, I prefer a roof rack, always seem to be more stable to me, unless you have a tow bar, which I doubt you do?

I never could trust a cycle rack always had to take my xc/dh bikes to bits and put it in the boot up until last year i bought a T4 transporter to put them in lol....nice cheap option..... keeps the S3 nice n clean now ;)
Staying in Innerleithen and near Glentress we get loads of bikers and i have seen 2 S3's recently with bikes attached one had them attached to the boot and the other had them on the roof.
Having used various racks over the years roof mount ones are more defo more stable but cause more drag ....towbar ones are great but i wouldnt want a towbar on my S3 either lol
All i can say is dont do it on a budget buy a decent one !! look up Thule cycle carriers

Thanks for that what do you think of this..Genuine Audi Cycle & Bike Carrier / Rack - UNIVERSAL | eBay

Dave do a search for tow bars on here, there was a member who fitted a removable toe bar and used a thrule bike carrier, looked really smart, no cutting of the bumper required and with the toe bar removed there was no sign at all that he had one.

I just can't imagine a cycle rack on the back of your S3 s3dave! It'd fall off with one good boot of the throttle!

Yeah im going to go for the detatchable toe ball, nice bit of kit...
yea good choice ......mate had one on his octavia rs dead easy to use and funnily i used to fit these way back when i worked for Skoda main dealer too ....locks were bad for corosion and seizing if not looked after

Dave can you list price's when you get round to doing this as im interested in fitting one too

I always carry my bikes on a Thule roof carrier, personally I feel they're far safer up there out the way.
Bikes hanging off the back of a car are far too vulnerable for my liking, not just from other traffic but also little tow-rags with light fingers!
Just my opinion though
