which map would you guys say would be best for my 1.8t sport (AGU) iv done a few things to it so far the car has;

Silicone TIP
N75J
k&n cone (to be changed to a big s3 jetex when the reducer turns up)
large cold air feed from the bottom of the bumper to the cone
ECS stage 1 clutch & flywheel
miltek cat back
2.5" custom downpipe and sports cat
007P

is there anything else i should do before i get a map or just anything in general i should be asking for?

Neither. Shark Performance.

About as subtle as a flying brick tshirt p235278564028583984trlf 400

In the name of fairness and balance, a vote for Revo here!

Given it's a stage 1 tune I think you have all you need there. In olden times they used to fit the S3 Fuel Pressure Regulator (4 bar), but I'm not sure that's necessary for Stage 1.

well i am Revo stage 1 on an AGU and it is top cant complain, it is an agressive map so when it gets to 3K it cicks in - which i like.

r-tech for maps.

you going stage 1 or 2 and are you running standard k03 or k03s?

im running standard k03 id like to go k03s but its just finding a nice turbo that's not shagged or a cheap Chinese remake made out of tooth picks and cream cheese.......

i live no where near R-tech i live in Middlesbrough so its up to psi tuning in Newcastle for a custom code or to see Allan fishburn in darlington to get a revo map.

what stage i am going is unknown this is what i don't know what would be the best to go for with the current mods iv done

Mines an AGU with a KO3s and a few other toys, REVO did mine and its really good but if I keep it its going to SWICT in Bristol for a custom as they're figures look very appealing ( 235bhp )......
A vote for REVO

R-tech is a fair distance from you, hmm revo out of the two not heard anything good said about cutom code revo heard mixed reviews

You've got the most important bit (the DP) which was quite restrictive on these, so are in shape to go to Stg 2.

Other useful mod is derestricted charge pipe, but I hat to have one custom made by someone (on a SEAT forum). Helped turbo spool.

FMIC is the other biggy you will need to consider beyond S1 as intake temps start to get counter productive with higher boost.

Custom Code Stage1 in my 2nd S3 with 156k miles on it, pulls very nicely through the range. I'd personally base your decision on price and locality of the companies, they are both good maps in my opinion.

if i went stage 2 would i need a k03s?

im pretty much pants with cars and what i need i just see what other people have got and do that lol

Bizarre, this was in my K04 LCR 225. What was the 4 bar FPR run on Bill?

I think it was on an A4 of some description. and often used on stage 2's and the olden days pre stage 2 which were called revo 4bar programmes

LCR's dont come with 4bars as std..

Revo HQ used my LCR 225 as a test mule for S2 in 2005 and fitted 4 bar FPR as part of their build (adding irium plugs, seat sport intake, dynatwist, full Milltek TBE, Forge FMIC, de addled charge pipe, iridium plugs, and full silicone hoses. Never kept car long enough to do inlet manifold, phenolic gaskets etc as S3 arrived in 2.0 guise a year later and 300 horses became a much easier reach!

iv read in quite a few places that people say you need a 4 bar FPR and it does say on the revo website is this just a pointless thing to do ?

I support Shark, you support Revo? I really don't get why I get abused for this?

Abuse , come on mate you know me better than that surely.:eyebrows:

I appreciate we all have our 'set responses' depending on whicht camp we sit in, but ultimately whilst I support Revo given the service I receive today, it doesn't mean that couldn't change in the future, and if I genuinely thought it would be counterproductive to suggest someone go with Revo because the person lived too far away from a dealer, or because they were looking for something more moderate / OEM, then I would support and reinforce that decision too.

I appreciate it's easier for me as I have no vested interest in Revo other than getting good support in the future, but it might just seem a touch more 'balanced' a view if you explained why they should consider Shark as an alternative rather than saying 'Discount the others, choose Shark'! I'm as passionate about certain brands as you are N8, so fully understand your intention and not knocking it, but as an opening gambit one liner response it was quite 'bold'!!!!!

I'm a very bold person and I wish I was Nick, I'd be ballin round in an S3 like you

And bold is good mate; all for that. When people sit on the fence like sheep no one learns anything, so no criticism from me there!

Except you'd have some 'bentleys on it!

On a more serious note, I need to get this old girl re-mapped as shes a bit sluggish, I'm open to options before I head down to AMD and get them to slap a Revo map on it. What's the deal with Shark Nath, ASN buddy discounts? How does it compare with Revo in the way it drives?

I don't own any Bentleys and are currently on Audi alloys SMART ****. Are you free on Bank Holiday monday? Open day @ the new unit in mansfield. There will be discounts on the day - I'll sort you out.. A mapped S3 is 320bhp and 330ft-lb, drives BEAUTIFULLY well. It drives alot better than the Revo S3s I've been out in.

320bhp!! Are you a f***ing wizard?

This might explain, but i'll give you that one buddy!

In any event, I think Mansfield is probably a bit too far for me to come along, had it been closer i'd certainly have been there for sure.

As it happens, my 8P was 319bhp / 327 lb/ft on Revo stage 1, but I know people say it's a more aggressive map in the way the boost comes in, whereas something like an AMD map will get the same peak figures but is more of a linear (as much as a turbo can be) delivery.

Lol it's nice to see someone other Westy, Welly or myself do such a good job of a derail in the 8l section.

Coatesy: Revo owners are happy with theirs, CC owners are happy with theirs...
i'd go R-Tech if I was close enough... or get an FMIC and get a custom map instead of a generic one so you know you have the max possible out of your car! Or get an FMIC and K03(s) Hybrid and custom map - will fly then, no doubt.
