Hi Guys,

I've received my exhaust and was wondering if it is safe to install the TBE (resonated) while running stock intake and APR Stage 1?. The next step would be adding a Forge Twintake and APR Stage 2.

It's safe, it's just a question of whether you get any DTC's from lambda sensor. These can be sorted when car goes for S2, but does anyone know if DTCs will affect cars driving performance?

you prob gonna need a O2 spacer for the 2nd one or gonna get error.

You mean i will get an error always or just because i will be on S1? Also what sort of spacer, would you have any info on it? by second you mean the one post cat? Thanks

You would only need an O2 spacer on the second sensor, ie post cat. I had a Blueflame TBE installed when I was still using a Stage 1 map and didn't get a CEL showing on my dash, but my exhaust has a spacer actually manufactured into it after the sports cat (which is a 200 cell, so more unlikely to throw a CEL). A lot of Stage 2 maps specifically 'write out' the CEL in the mapping, so you don't get any orange dash lights. I think other guys who have O2 spacers fitted have got the angled ones, for a better, less obtrusive fit. Like this one from Awesome GTI. Paula x

Awesome - 42 Draft Designs O2 Sensor Spacer

I have 2 brand new O2 spacers in my garage, which I bought, but never needed. They are not the angled ones, but if you wanted, I'd be happy to send you one for just the cost of the postage to see if it would work, before shelling out £30 plus postage for the Awesome GTI one. If you would like me to send you on, just let me know and I'll sort it for you. The ones I have look like these. :) x

If anyone else needs a Lambda spacer FOC, please let me know and I will send it out to you. These are a standard fit, I believe, for all O2 sensors, ..either 17mm or 18mm. x

Very generous of you Paullie. It seems like the Milltek Cat is a 100 cell so that might be an issue. I am in Melbourne Australia so if you are willing to post all the way downunder then will be glad to pay you the postage cost. Please pm me your paypal. 5 pounds covered something similar last time was posted from the UK to here but let me know the cost. My only question, will there be enough space to fit the spacer and the sensor without an angle?

I fitted a full Miltek TBE and was running it for 6 week without any remap, never threw up any warning lights at all.

I'd be more than happy to send it out to you, just PM me with your details and I'll sort it :). The only thing is I can't say whether or not the fact it isn't an angled spacer would make fitting it an issue. Perhaps someone with an idea of where the Lambda boss for the sensor is - post cat- could advise us as to whether or not there would be enough room to fit a non-angled spacer. :) x

Again, very much appreciated Paulie. By the way. Mine is an impla yellow also 
Let me confirm first the position of the sensor so I don't trouble you. I think it's 45deg. Il go downstairs tomorrow and check the position and let you know. If anyone else knows then would be a great help.

Thanks Hallam for confirming the model.

Lol, yeah I know yours is another Imola, ..always happy to help a fan of bright colours, like myself ;). I think you may be right about the 45 degree angle of the sensor boss, in which case I think the spacer I have will basically give you the same as I have built onto my TBE. Give it a look at the weekend and just pop me a PM with your details as I have a hunch it'll work. Otherwise, you may want to give it a go and see how you go, ..as Hallam says, you may not throw a CEL at all. x
