Audi Driver's International - 8th October 2011 - ***Official Thread***

Lol, it was a bit cramped last year :)

JoJo we should probably make a plan for meeting up to hand out passes, after the hassle of last year.

Tesco's carpark is the new meeting point isn't it? Anyways, it's ok to go straight to the venue for me to hand out passes at the stand, that's what we did in the end.

We need tickets to get into the Coombe Scott, and passes to park on the ASN stand. Only the passes are free, you have to buy tickets, and it's per head for this event, as opposed to per car like AitP.

I see what you mean now.

When do the tickets go on sale?

Over 30 members after 3 days, this is going to be a whopper! lol

Just had some contact with someone within autometrix, I should get a better idea of plot space/area in the next few days. I've informed them that last years plot was a bit of a squeeze for 40 cars, so they are looking into it for me hopefully. :)

Ok, just got this email, so if anyone fancies an ASN only track session, please let me know.
Dear Joe

Audi Driver International, at Castle Combe on Saturday, October 8th, is fast approaching and it might be helpful if I bring you up-to-date with some of the arrangements.

1. We are offering individual clubs their own on-track sessions. We are permitted 12 cars on the track at any one time and, if we have an advance booking from a club for 12 track entries, we can provide a session where only those cars will be on the circuit.

Normally, the cost of one session on the track is £45, but we are reducing this to £35 if the block booking is made in advance.

There is a further benefit. If a club makes an advance booking for a session in this way, all 12 drivers will be sent wristbands which will permit them to enter the event free of charge. (Please note that this only applies to the driver, not to any passengers.) Effectively, this brings the cost of taking part in the club session down to £25, as Castle Combe’s entry charge is £10.

One club has already booked a full session in this way and is considering booking a second, its members realising what good value this is, and looking forward to a track session where only fellow club members will be on the circuit.

If a club cannot get the full 12 entries, we can consider a minimum of 9 cars for a session, but the entrants would have to accept that there would also be trade demonstration vehicles and charity runs taking place on the circuit at the same time. The same costs will apply.

2. Audi UK be bringing along their promotional unit and a range of new models and there will also be an R8 GT which will be giving charity rides around the circuit.

3. We have to plan out the limited amount of space in the Castle Combe paddock and it is essential that you let us know, as soon as possible, how many cars will be occupying your club display area. We must have this information no later than Friday, September 30th.

4. In the evening, Swindon Audi will once again be welcoming us to a splendid reception in their showroom before the gala dinner, at which the Audi Driver Annual Awards will be presented. The dinner will be followed by a disco. If a club books a table for 10, the charge will be £324 instead of £360 (paying for 9 rather than 10). Block bookings for tables must be made by Friday, September 30th.

Bit of a strange question I know, but what sort of time did the day part of it finish last year?

Be a bit more specific Chris, day part? I think track time is around 930-12 break then 130-430 or something like that? Then a few announcements followed by a track parade 5-530 ish?

I mean the day side of it, i.e. before the gala/evening event

Hi Jo, I' be up for booking a track session in advance, would be good to get 12 from our club on track together!!! I know I don't have an Audi at the mo but would be good to compare etc? Also a good deal to get in for free!!!
Are you going for a track session this year? Looking forward to catching up with everyone and meeting some new people!!! Cant wait now!:racer:

cool lets hope they all turn up any news on were their putting us this year Joe

Awaiting reply, will take a couple of weeks, as the woman is on holiday. I've been informed the usual paddocks area has changed since last year, but rest assured if the numbers are big, they will accommodate us!

To be honest, I've had more people year on year for this event since I started promoting it! I would be disappointed if we don't get 50 names minimum!

I have already booked a hotel nearby to minimise the amount of driving to do on saturday morning...no stone chips for me!

I'm so so there peoples, was a good day last year.

Dane, want to do the usual convoy? I expect me you and Tuffty can meet en route.
