Day 2 of cleaning for AITP. I finished off my interior which now looks and smells lovely. My mate Paul finished off waxing his A5 and we swapped the cars over:

Into the cleaning booth with my dirty Minger:

Stopped for a spot of dinner:

Then got on with claying:

Then we put both cars to bed ready for day 3 of cleaning. Paul has to do all the glass and trim on his A5 and I need to polish and wax, glass and trim :(

looking properly awesome dude :) Have you actually taken 3 days off work just to clean the car?

I literally cannot WAIT to come for a lap or two in this in 4 weeks time :) it's going to be awesome!

No mate been getting home at 5pm and cracking on.

I'm well up for the Ring trip bud cant wait. The A5 is coming too but its a slow diesel, it just looks nice ;)

he'll be the one laughing on the way there! I use SO much fuel to get there it's a joke. Even on cruise, the track car just seems to drink it like it's going out of fashion.....

That said, I don't hang about.

I'm PROPERLY excited dude, I mean really, VERY excited already. I just need to get the car all sorted to make sure it'll be 100% for the trip.

You're lucky that you're in such a lucky position having a mint car that works!

Shhhh, dont put the mockers on my car! Just have a quick read back through the pages of this thread to see the amount of time, effort, and money i've thrown at the S :)

I try to get there on 1 tank of fuel but i've not done the journey on a stage 2 with all the gubbins so we'll see how thirsty she is.

I'm sure I COULD do it on a single tank, but I just get too tempted, and end up playing. especially the last 45 minutes when it gets better!

I just love arriving at the Ring. It's like the most bizzare second home feeling every time I get there, I just can't get enough of it!

I know what you mean. As soon as you're off the autobahn and on those lovely sweeping mountain roads that lead into Adenau you know it's going to be good times ahead.

I see it as a mans Disney world :)

Just finished day 3 of the big clean and to be honest I could do with another day!

Tonight I had to polish & wax the paintwork, polish the wheels, do the glass, trim, and mirrors. Here's a few pics:

Very nice job there Neil. What products you use.

I use Blackfire polish and sealant, probably be really good too on your colour.

Wow! Epic reflections there dude, good work!

Thanks Nathan

I uses what my mate had. Used maguires clay then dodo juice lime prime and sealed it with Simoniz caranuba wax polish.

It's covered in scratches that my crappy iPhone camera doesn't pick up but it's still the cleanest it's ever been.

Hopefully I can keep it this way and someone with a decent camera and a decent eye for a photo will get a good pic.

I'm still awaiting the delivery of brake fluid and braided hoses! Fingers crossed it's today or we won't be fitting them tomorrow :(

Look forward to seeing pic's of them on the car. For me Red calipers was the right choice of colour Westy - looks great on dark s3. I'll be getting mine done in the next few months at the same time as having my wheels refurbish.

Out of interest where did you order the fluid from? I ordered some rbf600 for mine at 4pm on tuesday from camskill and they turned up the next day, i was very impressed!

All my stuff is coming from Badger 5. He had a slight problem sourcing me some Ferrodo DS3000s as Ferrodo UK stocks are low. I'm getting 2500s now as the 3000s wont be here in time for the ring trip.

Bill is sending me some RBF660 which has slightly better properties to the 600.

Car looks great, I want to clay mine to get it like that...yours does the mingers proud!

Nice one Westy - looking smooooooooooth mate!

Thanks mate.

Detailing is the next thing i want to get into, probably next year. I need to get some paint work done then I'm going to learn how to use a rotary and detail properly ;)

A world for detailers...

great website/forum for detailing i do warn you once you sign up be prepaired to spend spend spend and your garage will be full of detailing products.

some of the deals and comps they have are great

Well in westy, as emma said, doin the mingers proud!
Ive had mine in the garage for 2 nights aswell, wash, tardis, wash, megs clay(first time ive done it, wow!) Ag srp all over, followed by 2 coats of extra gloss protection sealent, wherls off too for a de-tar and wash finally sealed with egp. so my minger looks pretty good too! Maybe the same colours should park together.
Anyway, just about to set off, see you in a bizzle

Began my Nurburgring trip preperation on the car tonight. Did a haldex oil and filter change. I also fitted a new alarm module, well FranS3's old one, as i'd ripped mine out a few months back when trying to replace the batteries and it all went horribly wrong.

I also swapped over the nipples and lines on the brake calipers as they needed to be the other way round. I had to do it so carfully so I didn't mark any more of the powder coating than I had to. I also got the Porka stickers on :hubbahubba:

Just waiting for the new pads and then I can get these fitted.

Before the ring i'm also going to clean my injectors again and TB, and do an engine oil and filter change.

The callipers look sweet mate. Will look class when fitted.

;)

Nice Brakes Westy! Inspired me to re-go over mine with Red calliper paint at the weekend whilst my mechanic mate is fitting my Brembo Max's! :)

W3sty, hopefully you will get the pads today and get them fitted.

here's a guide> http://www.vaglinks.com/Docs/VW/MKIV/VWVortex.com_VW_MKIV_Brake_Fluid_Flush_DIY.pdf

beware of pumping the pedal if attempting this method... There is a risk of rolling the master cylinder seal over which will kill the m/c

Vacuum bleed or low pressure pressure bleed.., and dont forget to do the master cylinder 2 x bleeds also (and clutch if the level has dropped)

Do not drain fully... is my advise. fit the calipers mechanically, and make the hose connection your last job so as not to loose much fluid.

Cheers Bill.

I have an Ezibleed kit so I'll be running off the pressure of my spare wheel. I'm hoping to not touch the brake pedal!

Good lad, you got any stickers for them?

No I haven't matey - your porsche ones look cool! Shame I'm only running the standard callipers else I would of got something similar....
