Hi matey, nice car! Just like my last A3. I don't think it'll be any harder to shift your car with the black bits, ..if anything it'll look a lot better without the chrome as I think it looks totally 'lost' on a yellow car, if you get what I mean. Black on the other hand adds a bit of definition and makes the yellow paint 'pop'. I've done pretty much the same to my current car and lost every last trace of chrome (apart from the rings on the front). :) x

Did you buy this of a scottish member? Looks so much like an old members cars. I think it looks pretty fine how it is and couldnt see you having a problem selling it on. Maybe put a chrome badge back on.

Don't think he's done the dechroming mods yet, Ash. Pic is of how it will look. :) x

No probs Buddy, here's a pic of my old A3. I didn't mod it at all, it was a completely standard 1.9 TDi SE, so it will probably look a lot like your car does at the moment (mine was minus foglights though). :)

It's my current yellow car that I've dechromed, here's how it looked when I got it.

And how it looks now :)

I like your taste in cars, ..I went from my Toucan Yellow A3 to an Astra VXR Nurburgring, so sounds like we have similar taste when it comes to our wheels, lol. VXR's are ripe for the modding and the VXRacing is a real looker, ..totally love the red stitched Recaros and the rest of the interior! Mine was EDS Stage 3 + inlet cam by the time I was done with it and I had a fair bit of carbon fibre parts custom made for it. Apologies for the pic whoring, lol, ..but since you like VXR's I thought you might like to see  x

I LOVE my bro's Corsa VXR

That's my favourite colour of Corsa VXR and I believe it's the rarest of all the VXR colours. Beautiful, N8! They go like stink too, lol! x

Yea looks like we are the same.

How does the s3 compare to the vxr?

Also looked at the corsa vxr against the astra.
Prefare the astras though!

ASW on the pictures though :) but all look great!

Funny you should mention that....

Put it like this, I used to get sweaty palms even nipping to the shop for a pint of milk in the Astra, lol. It really was a white knuckle ride and a total thrill to drive. There was no such thing as a relaxing drive in the VXR, ..but I loved that! The S3 is very well behaved (unlike Bad Boy Vixer!) both when pootling about town and when putting your foot down. The engine feels much stronger than the Astra's did and it gets its power down so much better than the Astra. I had rear anti roll bar, matched springs and dampers and a Quaife LSD fitted to it and even then it sometimes would struggle with traction and the handling wasn't always the best (very twitchy back end) . I loved my Astra, but I wish I had discovered the joys of DSG driving years ago. I always thought I'd HATE an automatic car, but I absolutely love it to bits and I would never swap back, even if I could (I have a spinal injury, so needed to let the Astra go in favour of a DSG car). The S3 just feels a lot more 'grown up', ..but I'd never tell anyone not to buy a VXR because I never regretted so much as a second of my almost 3 years of owning mine.
