i have a bose system in the car, lovely quality sound system, it has a tape player and a 6 cd front loader but does'nt play mp3s witch i found odd for a car of this class and age (2006), my mum has a kia rio that plays mp3s, a car at the same age, slightly embarrising lol!

anyway, im looking for a way to play mp3s without making drastic changes, i have an after market alpine in the garage but i dont want to put it in the audi because it will look a ******, it wont look right in the dash boad so i want to keep it standerd.

is there any way i can do this such as installing a memory card reader or an aux jack were i could fish it neatly into the glove box?? i'd like it were i can control it useing the controls on my steering wheel? has anyone done this and how without such an expence? i tried using an fm transmitter on a prevease car and found it abserlutly crap, there was no sound quality, it was very fuzzy, i want something more fixed to the system already in the car.

Has anyone tried the optional blue tooth kit with this and can anyone confirm if it works with MFSW?

seems a good idea! but i dont know if it would work, i doubt very much i have the muilty chainger connection on the back of my stereo! my 6 cd mulity chainger is all part of the head unit, its not the seperate thing in the glove box! unless theres anothor way to connect it? and would it work my steering controls?

The internal CD-Changer is CD 1-6 if you add that unit then you also get CD 7-12.

There is no mention of can-bus interface so I don't believe you get anything on the DIS. Have a look at the Dension units if you want DIS intergration.

i have this its absolutely ace... as mentioned above works via the 7-12 cd changer option... you just press cd option twice to turn on. it works through the sterring wheel controls and we have various ipods from 1st gen touch to the new iphone 4 and everything has worked charged and does as it says...

10/10 really cant fault it

Steering wheel control is just a load of BS marketing, it's the radio/steering wheel which controls things these ipod adapters Aftermarket & Genuine Audi have no direct comunication to the steering wheel controls.

Most of the B7 model of cars never had cassette players.

Fitting seems fairly straight forward just plug in to the cd changer socket and away you go as I read it ?
Were have people put the device once fitted ?

I used velcro pads and stuck it to the roof of the glove box.

That looks a neat job you have done there did you have to take the glove box out to fit it ?

This was done at the same time i had oem blutooth unit and the cool box pipe fitted, so yes the glove box was removed which is very easy to do .
