AS.NET RING TRIP

Pistons and rods are out just waiting on bits now hopefully if its quiet enough at work on nights over the next few weeks can get some sleep and work on it during the day :whistle2:
 
Harsh news man, I really hope you can get it done! Germany is about the right distance to run it in though :) so there's an up side!

it does actually, feels proper cool with the cage, it Tripods just about everywhere the camber changes! Into petrol stations and stuff, the back wheel just keeps lifting off the ground. feels great though

Just bought 12 laps for £175 from a mate who's just made friends with the armco at Miss-hit-miss and decided to come home early :)

Nice deal with the laps mate. I'll probably only do 8ish.

If I follow you mate there's no way i'll be able to keep up. I'm on GT5 every night at the moment. I'll soon be able to run through a lap in my head ;)
 
Youd be surprised I think mate, it's SO much easier to go fast when you're following another car.

That, and your S3 MUST be way quicker in a straight line. The track car seems to have lost it's edge a bit. probably due to the 206k on the engine, and the cracks in the turbo you can read a paper through!

I know all about turbo cracks mate!

I might be faster in a straight line but you'll kill my cars fat *** in the bends.

So many people get stickered up before they go, without understanding the rules!

No stickers allowed until YOU have done a lap in the car. If you buy a car with a sticker on, you need to remove it until YOU've done a lap.

If you get a new car, you can't put a sticker on it until the new car has done a lap :p

them's the rules. Don't want to see any first timers with Ring stickers in our trip!

The best one I saw was someone sticking their sticker on a rippled door panel where they slapped the armco ;)
 
Oh, everyone is however entitled to one of my own designed ASN Ring Trip stickers as displayed in my signature. I'll get a load printed out and they can go above or below ya tax disc.

What annoys me even more than ring stickers when people havn't earned them, is those ****** 'never been' ********.

You'll come up behind a car in traffic, and think ''oh, a like minded person'' Only to find its some scene tit who hasn't got a clue.

I also bet that over 80% of the ring stickers you see on cars are from eBay and not the official ring stickers from the place itself. Have you seen the "M25 Ring" stickers too??? Tits!

Am i ok to steal a couple of them stickers westy (one for me and one for mates tt) will sort you out the money's etc on the trip :)

Am praying that i will end up with a ring sticker on my motor in a months time? If my mates tt ends up wearing it rather than mine i won't hear the end of it!

are they internal or external Westy? How big?

Proper excited now! the first orange bar went in last night :

The first orange bar was installed last night, to give me some inspiration!

The stickers will be internal and the same size as a business card. I'm also going to get the old ones from 2008 re-printed as mine got binned when I had a new windsreen fitted.

As gay as this sounds, I'm REALLY looking forward to taking some of you guys around for a lap too!

You can build the fastest thing on the planet, but without anyone to share it with, you're just a sad and lonely man!

Half the fun for me, is going out for laps with other people, as pax or driver, then recounting the tales over an ample serving of bit burger that evening in the bar!

It's the whole atmosphere of the place that just makes it magical, and until you've been there, you'll never understand just how epic the place really is!

Totally understand what your saying prawn but each time i read more and more comments its getting me all fired up like a child counting down to christmas lol :jump:

If i am lucky enough to have mine would love for you to guide me for a lap if poss but chances are slim? hope is gradually fading?

i recently went for the first time as apassenger, and still had an amazing time!

I'm not suggesting for a second that my A3 is the fastest thing on the planet, that was just an example :)
 
Yeah will definately be coming no matter what can't miss this now, but feel i may do another trip in the near future if mine doesn't make it this time

think its just something i've gotta do now the seed has been planted

Had gathered that you wasn't trying to big it up lol although i bet a light wieght car like that goes round corners on rails ;)
 
Forgot to say haven't got a second car but am sharing the misses ka sport at the mo but think she wont apreciate me taking it and will probably get left behind on the way :whistle2:

Keep toying with the idea of getting a tdi mk4/a3 for a daily driver and turn the s3 into more of a toy but don't know if i can bring myself to rip out the s3's interior as was one of the reasons for getting one?
 
buy an A3 tdi, and stick the S3 interior in that! best of all worlds :)

Glad you're comming man, I think this trip is going to be the best one yet!

Good thinking batman hadn't crossed my mind ;)

Cheers mate it will also be good to have people like the likes of yourselves that are experianced and know the best routes and places to stay/go otherwise us virgins might have got ripped off or have a lesser trip lol
 
Now that AITP is out the way I can concentrate on the Ring trip. Got a haldex oil an filter change to do tonight then attempting to fit the Boxster calipers tomorrow night.

Also got to hit the track on GT5 every evening to get all 148 bends ingrained into my memory. Do you think i'm taking this a bit too seriously???
