Westy, Thats a A5, so he'll be with the A5 people.
Well, there was talk about having the cars in model and age order.
Model order yeah but I think age would be to much of a pain in the *** to do.

Sorry at work, and cnt remeber my photobucket login thingy..
Only image i have of my car is below

VVV

Dane, Nice Taxi. Is that before the AITP clean?

That was a 4 hour clean 2 week ends ago, it's pretty much been at Bill's since. I put 2 coats of extra gloss protection on so it should be fairly easy to clean up for AITP. Alloys are fecked though, not had a chance to refurb them.

I think age would be near impossible, and take too long. Dane, nice motor.

Cheers mate, it currently looks an awful lot like Tuffty's though lol

huh, I'm sure Ill remember at the weekend lol

I need to redo my grill surround too it's all stone chipped

Ahhh what a day. 27 degrees means nice hot servers. Nice hot servers sadly (the ones who's owners refuse to pay for air con) mean that they have a tendancy to go bang.

No pressure then whilst a 50 strong office waits for you....

It's very funny you should mention this! We just had a server go bang due to the heat.

Bum buh da buh buh, bum buh da buh buh!

Good luck duder

Ah the joys of on site maintenance lol

Well boys you wont miss ne that's for ****** sure.

Westy sure no one will mind Yr mate squeezing his sweet looking a5 in between the 8l. Might stick out like a **** on an iceberg though haha

I don't understand how people can have a server room with no AC unit.
wall mounted or a unit on wheels.
Even the cheap units from Argos for example.

I agree completely and an arguement I have had many times with this lot.... However they do like to cut costs wherever possible, despite my pleas of short term gain long term loss.

As it turns out I was right, and it's very very hard to not give the 'I told you so speech'. The customer isn't always right, but the customer is always the customer...

Anyway, they're back up and limping along. The plastic clamps inside that hold the heat sync to the processor have melted in places from excessive heat - new on of them then please - causeing the heat sync to fall off. D'oh.

Cable ties appear to be doing the job for now.... Mwhahaha. IT is no different to mechanics. If it breaks. Bodge it.

My missus has just said to me that she'll come to Kettering if I pay for her fuel.... (She's moaning about how much the little 180 TT costs to run - she knows nothing)

How about, ummmmm, no.

That's what I like about my Dell servers they will shutdown if they get too hot - but I do have cooling.

Lol running costs,

I've got a beautiful mk2 golf gti that i can swap if you like, nice cheap running costs. :)

Reesy, The pic came from google. :)

Blade servers are the way forward!!

You lot seem to forget that largely, my customer seem to be scavs.

The problem is that they see IT Equipment and it's upkeep as an overhead, and an inconvienience. They are obviously wrong, and sadly don't realise until they get to this sort of stage and realise how much they rely on this 'inconvienience'.

I love the fact they always look suspicious of me, as I might be 25 next week, but I look 20 at the oldest. Because I am young - I must know nothing....

She's just used to running a 206 1.9 non turbo diesel.

It maybe good on fuel - but my god the thing is sh*t slow.

Almost to the point (I think), that it's dangerous as it takes about as long as it takes for a glacier to shift to overtake something.

As far as this lot are aware, the best cooling method is to douse them in water.

I dare them to try it and see what happens.... Marshmallows anyone?

lol.

speaking of hot IT equipment, I've been given an older generation MacBook Pro to use at work, much like my one at home, the only thing this they are made of aloominum and get ****** hot!

Lets be fair, that's damn cool (Excuse the pun).

I think we should be using Water Meth on the server... :-/

I'm still amazed that cooling for server rooms is still very basic.
shove a rack of servers in to a room, slap in a AC unit and let it go.
No proper designed air flow or air direction.

I've seen designs for servers that don't use any AC units just very well routed air and super efficient fans.
