As per another audi forum maybe start listing them on here for the S3's?

As per the other one these were clearly on a local private runway....


I had a 911 C4s on Thursday, did 3 pulls and the S3 just pulled away easily!

Had a run with a mates stage 3 Astra VXR, again pulled away with ease.

A thrash with a bentley Continental and i was pushing him along, probably could of edged past but was pushing him along

And a bike of some sort couldnt shake me...... I love this car!
 
Hahaha- that's great repping for the 8L S3's there Andy :)

I would have loved to have seen the Bentley Drivers face as you were pushing him along!

So I take it you'll be keeping the S3 now then?
 
I would say it is a yes for now, i havent even done 800 miles in it yet and ive had it a few months!!! So need to drive it more, but thats the same for the B7 as well lol. Will start attending some meets soon too
 
I have a house in redhill and a place in westerham. Maybe a local meet??
 
v12 diesel Q7 is my favorite
 
My personal favourite bate, and 9x out of 10 I come out on top, is remapped S3's ;)

Yes your not far from me, once my cars back on road id be up for a meet
 
I got pooed on by an impreza on sunday on my way to totb, i had my window down and as it came passed a backfire pop and blow off right in my ear, i thoughti was getting shot at it was that loud! I've never seen a car move so quickly right next/in front of me, he was in the persuit of an evo 8 about 5 cars in front and soon they were gone.
 
My mate has a 200sx and was done by a metro the other day, I'm still taking the ****
 
At lakeside a few years ago a metro was beating every other car there from m3s to skylines.
 
Loving the Q7 V12 TDI kill, i know the guy, he also has a 700bhp RS6!

how does a stage 1 S3 get on against the likes of VXR's and civic type R's etc.......

Oh and had a Lurid Green Focus RS this morning, i beat him in my evo and have now beaten him in the S3, loved the look on his face as 'just' a S3 blasted past him!

What in earth have you got running to beat an RS???

Type r's tend not to have a chance, Vxr's are fairly lively when remapped.
 
Clio sports & type Rs dont have the power but are a pain in the bends. VXRs and any other turbo car that has been remaped are difficult, unless its wet ;)

I've had a neck and neck with a scoob of some sort before. Probably just a 2 litre sport non turbo :(

dont wanna burst ur bubble for a bentley continental GT? a 911 C4? really man...

Astra yeh maybe. A bike with crappy power maybe. but not the 2 above even with that much power dude. id love to see it.

If the Bentley was a "supersport" then no chance in hell but the other GT models weigh a couple of ton and aren't that quick for a car with 560bhp.

A bog standard C4 is only 320bhp and not that quick either. I have no reason not to believe Andy.
 
yup, as Westy said, a 911 C4 is 318bhp standard, and probably about teh same weight as an S3.

Andys MTM S3 is 330bhp, with a shed load more torque than the flat 6 porka, so I'd expect it to walk away really.....

Jimbo: Focus RS's arn't THAT quick really. Sure, they're fast, but I had a drag against one last year with custard and up to 80 he didn't even pull a cars length on me. After that it was a different story, but they're not THAT fast.
 
I feel I can comment here, being the owner of a remapped (by Courtenay Sport) Vectra VXR. As mentioned above, it was immensely lively, 3rd and 4th gears were devestatingly quick and thorough OMFG!!! moments. HOWEVER, fast as the VXR is (or mine was, and don't forget, there's no limiter on them), corners didn't make me feel uber confident. The chassis/running gear was just not built for the type of performance you need for twisty turneys. My car was RR'd at Courtenay before they started, at 276bhp and about 260lbsft (IIRC) torque. They then made sure the VXL software was up to date and mapped the car whilst on the RR, so they could 'tweak' what needed to be tweaked. Result afterwards was 303bhp, BUT 415lbsft torque :yahoo:. The graph was a beautifully smooth curve and to be honest, there wasn't a lot around that could whack it (obv the likes of M3's, GTR's etc) :racer:. Had a play with a couple of scoobys and on the straights it was bye bye from me but come to the corners I just had to ease off, otherwise I would've been in a field. The term 'understeer' was invented for the Vectra VXR. Be interesting to see how the Insignia VXR compares with its AWD and LSD etc. Now that would be interesting remapped.

How about a standing start? Surely you just spin up? I had mine in FWD briefly and it just span up all the time :/
 
The biggest strength of the s3, in this kind of circumstance, is being able to launch really well. At inters, I did 5k launches, with no wheel spin at all and it took off squatting like a mo fo over the rear wheels. Some things were clawing it back at the end where the added weight took effect.

Even from a standing start it's not bad at all, quaife LSD and sticky tyres help. Have seen sub 6 seconds to 60 on the liquid guage. I'm fairly sure most stage 1 S3's are 6.1-6ish


That said, I don't ever launch my cars really, I just can't bring myself to be so cruel! get it rolling first THEN nail it for me!

he said a C4S though more powerful and lighter. Unless it was a fail driver or not a proper race it wouldnt really happen.
 
Destroyed a standard S3 the other day, first time I've had the opportunity, I know the bloke who owns it.

How anybody could ever own one of these without a remap is beyond me !

I saw 5.4sec on the liquid gauge, only time I've attempted it, stage 1 map...

I'd be confident against ya, lol :)
 
There are 2 C4S models one has 380bhp and one has 350bhp so he could have still done a 350bhp one. You also have to remember that a lot of the people driving these cars a) cant drive and b) dont want to risk spanking an expensive motor.

hmm supersport is only 100kg lighter has as 21 more bhp.

The car weighs 2300kgs S3 is like 1500-1600kg if i remember rightly. not much more difference considered twice the power out of a twin turbo 6 litre engine. Once moving the s3 will be left. off the start it depends obviously but once going the torque of the bentley is insane!

Edit: They have 570lb/ft of torque also
 
I'm the same; I try an avoid full blown launches. I had a bit of clutch slip doing it recently up hill (stupid I know) so since then have avoided it!

I need to give the 0-60 a go on the liquid gauge. I've not used half of the features on that thing...

lol - from the first post it was all about willy waving - surely there has to be someone on here who thinks they can beat me to 100mph!
