Just as the title states chaps.

I've been offered some 8.5x19" BBS CH's and just wanna see what 19's look like on S3's.

I know there's loads of pics on here but I can't be a*sed to troll through the entire forum :)

Just for you Ryan.

What's the handling like on 19's guys?

Can I run 19's with 235/35/19 tyres on ET10?

Ryan.

How's things..??

Il dig a pic of my old noggy out running 19" passat r36 wheels

Still haven't seen another with the same wheels as for ride quality I think its down to what suspension set up is being used on car

Mine had H&R Coilovers with forge tie bars rode really well

Tyres were hankook and cooper(Avon) 235 35 19 did rub slightly on full lock

Cheers lads.

I've got other cars to track, the S3 doesn't do many miles at all, just want it to look the bizz ;)

My adapters are 25mm, but surely I can get 5mm machined off them?

Hmm, been offered some wheels which are 19x8.5 with 245/35/19 tyres.

With adapters, they will end up ET13 from and rear. Is this still too much? I still think I could get 5 - 10mm machined off the adapters?

Ryan

My Fav wheels for looks on the S3 are the BBS RS861 Sandip has (AKA Audi Speedlines), they look awesome, I was very tempted ona set myself but opted to keep standards over 19s for the weight difference.

Sandips is the best looking 8L I have seen IMO, and its the wheels that really set it off.

Thanks Mark , appreciate your comments

I'm on 18s of course but with ET20 on the front and an 8.5" rim with 225s is flush with the front wing (lucky, as otherwise it's illegal here). ET15 on the rear (same width & tyres) sits in a touch, probably not helped by my camber.

I think I'll go for ET23 on the front with 245 tyres (will swap with 235's in due course), and ET18 on the rear. Now I gotta find somewhere near Peterborough that will be able to machine my adapters!...

Cheers gents,

Ryan

That S3 does look awesome on the 19" CH's!

However, I'm hoping to be picking up some very lightweight 19's this weekend.... I'll post pics upon collection ;)

Sam, you've now made me want to get my windows tinted looking at tha pic!!! Haha

Haha! Mine came with tints, not sure if they were an option but they aren't limo black which is good as I don't want to look like a drug dealer!

^^^^ Drug dealer - my thoughts too ^^^

I probably will shock kere, but somehow JoJo's 19x8.5 MTM Bimoto imo look the best...with probably the addition of chrome mrrors. Sounds wrong on so may levels - black alloys on black car and it's an preface lift....but i like it, i like it very much. The picture DOES do the car justice unlike others I have seen similar.

They look great! Not seen an 8L on them before.

I'm waiting to hear back from a local machining company to see if they can take 5 and 10mm off my adapter to make the wheels ET 23 (front) and ET 18 (rear).

Hoping that I won't have any problems on full lock with 245 tyres?... The car is still running standard ride height, hope it wont look like it's on stilts?!

Now thinking about H&R springs or a cheap set of coilies....

Ryan

New front tyres (235) and some coilies / springs will be fitted at the same time to prevent this...

How do you rate your AP's?

Rate the highly for the price, a lot more forgiving than the kw springs/weitec dampers i had on before...

I may get some kw springs for the rear though, as the adjusters are out but i would like it a little lower on the back lol

Here are my 19's with 235 tyres Not sure on the offset but they do catch on the inside on full lock:

When you say it catches on the inside, I presume you mean the inner arch near the engine right? If so, that's an MOT failure, a 5mm spacer will cure your problem, as I use to have the same with my 19s.

Yeah, that's such a stupid rule. They are perfectly safe if they are hub and wheel centric.

Could you get away with 5 mm spacers and just use the normal wheel bolts?

I like that fingermouse, what wheels are they!?

How much is your car lowered Fingermouse? Looks spot on!

Depends on the bolts, I used the standard aftermarket bolts I got with the alloys with a 5mm spacer with no issues, really depends on how much thread you have left on the bolt with the spacer on.

Ahh, the other expensive rare classic, Sportec Mono10's
