Hi All,

Had my windows done yesterday.

Ended up with 35% on the rears and 50% on the front but its hard to tell the difference and am very happy with it.

With the interior being black it looks dark, in my opinion it looks classy and not chavy limo black sh*t!!

2 of my friends have same setup and never been pulled by police in 6 years.

Dropped car off @ 10am was called back @ 12:34 to collect £150 full car.

He is based in bury with a very good setup and does all local car dealerships etc

i wasnt to ***** about the fine
but now get caught at night 3 points proabition notice and a **** about
but they look good

Looking very nice, but echoeing Bez, its completely illegal to have your front windows done, so be prepared if you do get pulled!

Like i said, i know of 3 people with the same setup from the same guy on there cars and since fitting never had police pull them ;

Mercedes C220 cdi AMG Styled not pulled in 6 years
Golf MK5 not pulled in 2 years
Audi S3 not pulled 3 years

So touch wood i will be ok.

They dont look as dark in person, you can still see in etc its when they cant tell whos driving the car they get p*ssed off!!!

35% rears 50% fronts? that right?

i thought the norm was darker rear?

I thought there was a limit to how much you can do on the front or is it completely illegal?

Yes Bowen the rears are slightly darker........

The % means the amount of light allowed to pass through the tint

35% means it lets through 35% light

and

50% means it lets through 50% light

50% light smoke
35% Medium smoke
20% Dark smoke
5% Limo Black ( very dark smoke )

the windows are tinted from the factory
so evan a 90% on the front would make it illegal

just 1 thing why the a4 on the back ?

Be careful with the fronts. Its not just the police you have to worry about with them.

Was talking to a tinter the other day, as I was wanting the lights smoke all round, and he refused to do the fronts. He said that apart from being against the law, and whatever the punishment from the police would be aside, it invalidates your insurance also.

He went on to say that a now customer (hadn't been at the time), was crashed into by someone else, writing off the car. But when the insurance assessor came to to inspect the car, a photo of the tints went to head office, who refused to pay out as insurance was void. Now it wasn't her fault, but as her insurance was void, her insurers didn't work with the third parties insurers to get her paid out, so she suffered a total loss. Nightmare.

Don't you mean why the S4 badge.

The S4 Badge was on it when i got it, i would take off but my luck it will rip the paint or leave mark etc!!!

So decided to leave it on.

I do want to take badge off and just put S-Line badges on rear door mouldings.

Might just do that bez101.

I kind of like people to think "i wonder whats in that beast" :)

I'd leave it as it is, no doubt. The cars looking very good, nice and discrete.

I'd also space the number plate correctly as (in my opinion) that really spoils the looks of the car unfortunately.

sorry to say this but the law states your tints have to let 75% of light pass in your drivers front door and paasenger front door the rest you have have a black as you want .... they do look awesome and would love mine doing but you get a fussy copper and your knackered
