Thinking of getting some RS3 wheels but wanna know if they would suit a silver A3??? Has anyone got any pics of them on a silver one? Also if I got them in 19" what size tyres would be ok without rubbing. I've been told 225/35/19 would be fine but others are telling me I'd need 215's???

Log onto to Audi UK and search for the A3's in silver. You will see how the wheels look then. Assume you mean the Black Edition rotor type wheels....

They are the 5 spoke ones that are dark grey with silver tips

18” x 8.5J ‘5-arm rotor’ design titanium finish alloy wheels with 225/40 R18 tyres

That's the Black Edition wheel and tyre size, looks like this? (n.b: not my car, so I can't comment on whether it matches the silver)

Cool. Thanks for the picture. Looks pretty good I reckon :)

Are they a Matt finish? The reps I've seen have a gloss finish

Yeah, I think they look pretty good on silver :) Although I'd try and stick with OEM and not reps..

I would love some OEM ones dude but they are just so expensive! I can get reps with tyres for £700, do u reckon that's a good price?

It depends on the tyre but it sounds a little pricey to me personally.

Yeah, £700 is pricey. You can get BBS CK reps from ebay with tyres for £550..

I'm really struggling :( ideally I'd prefer some 19" speedline reps with tyres but can't find any anywhere!!! Does anyone know of any websites that do they???

I would really prefer 19's coz I think if I got 18's I'd always be thinking I should of got 19's :) lol

Rep 19's are quite heavy and make the cars handling feel dull.

BE wheels have hollow spokes from factory, reps are solid. I have 19" RS4 reps in shadow chrome, and whilst they fill the arches on the new car I'm lowering 25mm, adding 12/15mm spacers and using the effects of 'visual illusion' to make rims fill arches!!

If you decide to go with 19's, get the original RS3 rear's which are 8in. ET50 vs 8.5 of the front.
With this setup I think there should be no rubbing with 225/35x19.

This will cost you a lot though and be quite restrictive when it come to tyres.. This is an unusual size for 19s?

Do speedline 18's look ok? I would like 19's but there seems to be a lot of messing around getting tyres stretched etc so would 18's look ok or would they not fill the arch? If anyone has any pics of some 18's on their car that would be great :)

Personally love speedlines.. But also think the rotor wheels look fabulous  weren't sure bout them in pics, but they are very nice in the flesh.. The finish on them is very nice indeed! I have lowered mine, but no spacers yet, and I think they look good..

Very nice! Are they oem or reps?

Also are they 18's or 19's?

Cool! They fill the arches well! Is it on coilovers or springs?

(1st post) Im getting a 3dr A3 BE TFSI in 4 weeks and the West London Audi dealer said the RS3 rims are SERIOUS on any Black, white or silver A3 but im getting 18's though would defo recommend the 19's.

Cheers mate! ATM it is on h&r springs.. 55mm drop.. But I'm toying with the idea of changing for coil overs soon.. And to be honest.. The ride is already very firm with the low profiles on the 18's.. I'm guessing on the 19's it would be even more so...!? Avoid potholes at all costs! (and Arnold!!!:scared2: )

Haha! Yeah I reckon I'm gonna go 18's and lower it, at least that way I won't need to mess around getting some 215's stretched. What size tyres have u got on ur rs3's?

Will 18" Speedlines look ok?

Noth that I'd necessarily recommend aftermarkets, and these seem to be gloss grey rather than matte finish, but these are an absolute steal!

I spoke with a wheel refurb agent the other week and he said the diamond finish on RS3 / S3 BE wheels is an absolute PITA to get sorted if you kerb them, and it's probably cheaper to buy a new wheel rather than refurb it.

Keep this in mind when chossing your wheels, and if you do, it's taxi to the kerb time.

18" Speedlines will look good:thumbsup: Have a look in the rim thread there will be photos there.
I got a set for winter wheels but will need a refurb. Search for user name Farhan, he put some speedlines on his lava grey s-line back in june and looks sweet.

When you buy the car new, audi give you wheel cover for £240.. Up to five wheels per year for three years! I thought this was a bargain

New wheels, or Audi 'quality' refurb. If it's new wheels I'll buy it, if it's them patching the old ones I may pass.

Hmmm. I'm not sure you know.. I think it might only be available when actually buying brand new car..!? If so I guess I've not been very helpful! Worth asking them though..

Supposedly the wheel guy I spoke to said he'd seen some shocking refurbs on diamond cut wheels, esp. by dealers, and he said he won't consider doing diamond cut as they need special (expensive) tooling. I can buy it for my new car in October as I've yet to sort GAP etc. but would only pay if it was replacement as I've seen Audi's approved resprays in the past, and they tender them out to Stevie Wonder and Roy Orbison.

:lmfao: not had experience of ray Charles work yet lol... They did say repair or replace tho.. So if they weren't back to 100% I would demand a replacement wheel.
