Which type p21w or ps19w

tbh it much easier if you do it through an archliner only three screws and its a much better anghle to get in

ps19w, I wanted to go through the archliner, but I can't shift my wheel nuts!

If its a diesel you will need to go inthrough the archliner because of all the gubbins thats in the way on the tdi

Also another tip light the bulb up whilst fitting then look carefull through the headlamp and you can see where it goes into its position thats the easiest way i find and mine have been in and out a fair few times

You shouldn't need to take the wheels off, just turn the wheels on full lock. Left hand down to do the right light and right hand down to do the left light. Worked fine on mine.

There's also a small gap in between the lights you can look at from the outside to see the position as well if that's any help. It is a real tight fit but it'll go in the end. Took me nearly 2 hours lol

Thanks! Look even better with that S3 grill you've got for sale lol! Wish i could afford it right now...

Looks good man,but could you also please upload a picture of your main beams?? Those led DLRs aren't mixing with yellowish halogen main beams??

Will take a pic later on. I don't think the DRL's are on when the main lights are on though.

i fitted mine last night on a 2011 1.6tdi with no room at all and i didnt need to take arch liners off tbf i was trying to fit them for at least 2 hours but did it eventully there a right pain to fit under the main beam and have blisters everywhere, it would be a hell of a lot easyier if you took the arch liners off i just didnt want to mess with them. but after they was fitted they look great!! work perfect no problems either :D well happy

they are on the just change to the lower brightness :)

You're right i just checked on my lunch break. Now i'm thinking of changing the mains and sidelights too to a whiter bulb lol...

Just read in the description that they are't road legal so be careful with those. They aren't e-marked.

Yeh i noticed that but ive never been pulled for headlights i used to have purple HID's in clio and never got mentioned + the amount of people that drive round with HID's fitted to a halogen headlights. There only 55w so wont burn the wires or anything stupid and are just as bright as normal halogen bulbs, there just a white light instead of the horibble yellow

:D just a thought other than that osram nightbreakers are the next ones but not as white

I fitted these today and they look really good, but I'm still having warning lights come on :(

It says that the sidelight/DRL on the right is the problem, is there anything I can do? All DRLs and sidelights are working spot on but it's just the error message that's bothering me.

Thanks
Lauryn

Has anyone else fitted the P21W LED's successfully without warning lights coming on?

Ordered a set of PS19W's after seeing the photos above - they look so much better!

They do mate. BUT in bright sunlight with them on they're barely visible. It'd look much better as a twin bulb so it's more visible.

T

Thees been two reports of this now both on s3 models like yours something must be different with them, ive sent one guy out some extra decoders to see if they cure it and im waiting for a report back

Can i sk you to try one of the p21w leds in your reverse light to see if iot works ok with the canbus in there?

thanks

Here's a before and after on mine, they are a really good style of bulb and look fab but the error messages arent ideal.

Well I got both my P21's and sidelight bulbs and decided to fit them this afternoon, P21's work fine, no error codes but the 5w sidelight bulbs flash up an error code, even though they work fine!!

Andi, got any ideas???

did andi send IM to u guys that he shipped them out or u guys just received them in mail?

Its weird how it works its very random that some S3`S are fine with the p21w and and others get an error same with the sidelights although we have found a soloution top that theres some extra plug in decoders available £6.50 (see further up thread they have been mentioned) a guy off here has tested them and they sorted the sidelights out on his pm me if you need to order them

thanks

spent 30min trying to change mine but had to admit defeat. how do you pull it out? because mine wont budge. ps19w

I have errors mate, on both nearside and offside. How are we going to resolve this??

I've yet to dive in myself as I'm awating delivery on some like yours - but looking at the manual there looks to be a button on the side which you press in and then pull the bulb/outer assembly out.

done that but still won't come out. the manual makes it look easy, its not

Just to confirm p21w is the correct one to replace the DRLs on my 2007 a3 (bixenon)

If so do you also have ones to replace the sidelight bulbs as these are separate smaller type.
