Hi guys, my DFP light has just come on which I know isn't great news, the car is going to Audi next week for a service anyway so will get it done then but does anyone know roughly how much they cost when changed by Audi? Also will I see any performance difference once changed or will the car drive smoother?

Any advice or experiences welcome

Cheers

A DPF light doesn't necessarily mean it needs replacing. You should be able to clear it by taking the car out for a 'spirited' drive. Try 4th - 5th gear 2-2.5 k RPM for about 15 minutes. Motorway or decent A road is the preferred option. Whack down the M32 mate! :racer:

Your handbook will explain it or just google it. If your light is persistent after trying the above then it may indicate a further fault which your dealership should be able to diagnose.

It could be a faulty sensor. Get it scanned with VCDS. Check out the users location map to locate someone near you who will scan the car for beer tokens rather than have Audi relieve you of lots of your hard earned

Unless it says DPF fault drive to dealers then it should be fine.

I used to take mines a blast in 4th gear along the motorway and it would clear in a few minutes.

You can tell if the car needs a regen as it will idle higher than normal.

Thanks for the replies chaps. The car has been idling slightly higher that usual so you think a blast will sort it out?

Get the dpf deleted and then map it :eyebrows:

Yup it just needs to regen. You need to take it on the motorway and keep the revs above 2k untill the light clears. I popped it on cruise at about 3k and it would always clear in a few minutes.

If you don't let it regen then you will get a message saying it needs to visit the dealers and they will need to force a regen.

All done thanks chaps! took 4 mins of about 80mph in 5th and the light just went back to radio station. Many thanks for your replies :)
