Im starting to consider my options for an exhaust system so was looking for inspiration at the moment.

Will be ordering a rear diffuser from the s4 as I wil be going with a dual exit system, really fancying some rs4 style tips on each side but would like to see what other options I have.

Or could a rs4 diffuser be modified to fit? without it looking tacky like??

Would there be much if any power gain through a full stainless de cat on a turbo diesel engine?

Intrested in doing this myself I have 2.0T with dual exit already but tempted by rs4 or s4 pipes ? Guess for me RS4 look would be easier as I could just fit the S4 diffuser and have bigger exhaust trims welded on ? Any one know if thats possible ?

Yeah you can get an S4 quad tip valence, fits straight on, and then get the RS4 style tips welded on. IMO it doesn't look that good, as the bumper is lower on the RS4 and the whole tip sits inside the bumper, whereas if you use the S4 valence only half the tip will sit in the bumper, making the exhaust look lower. I would get a nice set of quad S4 style tips instead (intact it's what I'm doing, custom catback with quad tips, hopefully done by end of next month)

dont put rs4 in a s4 difuser it looks stupid
cut outs are diggrent shape
as for modding a rs4 difuser iv seen 1 or 2 done and also had a guy work on 1 for me never got the look right so never fitted it

Heres my set up on a 2.0 tdi

might try, s4 diffuser with some oval exhausts suited to fit the gaps then, sorted

I have been planning RS4 tails for month to go with an S4 diffuser but i might not bother reading this, maybe some 4" rolled in pipes instead?

4" rolled tips would look better if your planning on going standard dual exit valence. The DTM models had 4" tips.

Yeah Chris I think I'll do that, I didn't know the DTM had 4" tips, are they rolled in / out or slash?

Marrow I think Unikarl's mate did it so I couldn't tell you but iv done a fair bit if wrapping myself and I think it should be easy enough. Gonna redo mine though cos I want the black carbon before I change exhaust tips.

Just remembered I have this saved on computer from ages ago aswell, I think its looks hot so may still go for it?

Couldn't remember the guys name but I got it from audizine.

it looks like it fits right to me, now just to find someone competant over hear.

Iv been on at exhausts UK but they want £180 just to cot of my tips and weld on RS4 ones. should be able to have that done for half that price!

Ye that seems alot to me mate have you tried long life exhaust Leeds my mate had some work done there and it was a decent job ?

Yeah i called them and they said they would have to look at it but i think they said about £130 which is going in the right direction.

Still alot for some thing simple ! i am friendly with some elders at work may ask them and buy the trim from some where thought it would be under 100 to be honest !?!

Apparently the tips are £35 each but I'm sure you'll get them much cheaper!

I seem to remember paying £20 for a single oval from local powerflow dealer about 5 years ago and one of the welders I mentioned at work modded a stainless exhaust for my old car that I bought cheap off fleebay with it so I guess with the way prices have gone £35 is prob about right but I will have a look around the net any way.

Did you source the new tips or powerflow? i might pop down and ask them about some 3.5 or 4" tips instead of RS4's.

i got quoted 360 for stainless cat back system from exhaustsuk, with dual oval pipes

Sound about right, last year i payed £200 for a backbox changing on a Scooby.

I got the black tips cut off mine & some 3.5" polished jobbies welded on by Powerflow - the guy did it for £80 all in.

Thats kind of the price I was expecting might pop to powerflow place in Hull see what they can do for me its only 100meters up from where I work.

By 4x7" is that 4" bore by 7" in length as there just pipes? they look good mate, how much did you pay to have them fit if you dont mind me asking?

Thanks for link.
