Retrofitting TTRS steering to S3?

Will take a piccy of mine... I have the TTRS wheel on my Sportback.
Cost me about 440 for wheel alone I think...

Sounds good. Out of interest, when did you get it and where from?

Rico sold his already he said.

LOL - I just playing mate. Testing how long it take for me to become the resident vulture :lmfao: - i'm in no rush mate, besides, today I'm feeling the RS6's LMAO.

youll have to beat me into becoming the resident vulture!, didnt realise you had a wheel for sale?

Ok Phil you win; only because you have a great name lol

I don't have a wheel for sale. I meant new RS6 alloys lol.

i wanna see some pics of the TTRS fitted in an A3/S3... i prefer the RS6 wheel tbh, but i dont really like the idea of the holes in the back

R8 steering wheel

Wonder if there is an option for white stitching.

yeh i wonder if there is an option for white stitching.

thats still really nice, i thought it was perforated all round.. it would be nice if i could get one with white stictching to match my existing one... ill be going for a TTRS wheel when im ready... i got a thing about fresh matt steering wheels

im also a bit confused cause every R8 ive seen has a slim wheel like the S3?? and they dont have an emblem at the bottom?

like n8 has said the best option is to buy the RS6 wheel, if you have DSG then keep the paddels. If you have manual remove the paddels, sell them on as there chrome and worth a fortune. If your worried about the paddle holes which i was get hold of some standard paddles and remove the paddle part and fill with body filler and spray black.

The RS6 wheel is a lot cheaper than the TTRS wheel

Completely understand what you mean S3RYE as these are the exact same thoughts I had.

Just to let you know the silver stitching is slight darker (obviously) that the white stitches on the S3 so not sure if that will effects your decision in doing the TTRS option. Still I prefer the full perf leather so that pretty much was the decider.

All R8 wheels I've seen are the standard S3 wheels toos but maybe that because its ebay! Weirdness!

Or just save yourself the hassle and leave them on. It's pretty unintrusive and more shiny silver to match the interior :undwech:

ill have the first S-tronic manual S3, it will be better than all yours... Ha!

no but seriously, Matt would you be ever so kind to show us a behind picture of the gaping holes :scared2: in the wheel that is....

Not a fan of either of those but maybe it's because I don't appreciate Carbon....

Sorry for the thread theft about to happen!

I have a 2001 s3, and I love the new age steering wheels. I'm wondering if I would need to change other external parts (boss, rack, etc etc) I understand obv. that paddles are a no go (duh). Anything in regard to airbags and ecu?

Cheers in advance!

Hey I can courier you 1, but not sure cost to import & courier to OZ.

The RS6 is auto only, so it has paddles full stop, I think the issue here is people label the thicker wheel as RS6, when infact it comes on other chassis aswell that arent autos, hence no paddles, so that wheel isnt from an RS6, unless the paddles were removed & its been recovered so no holes :)

Anyway, as I advised, happy to help supply a wheel.

The one above is from an RS4 (the badge is a give away)
