My car will be due a cambelt change in around 5k or in 3 months time - whichever is first.

What kind of prices have people been getting in the Shropshire area? Both Audi and independent.

Cheers :)

just the belt m8 lol o and a wash haha you can get them done cheaper m8 tbh i used audi incase anything goes wrong with it and you have someone to blame who isn`t going anywhere fast piece of mind more than anything i was lucky i didn`t need the water pump doing think that is £130 on top or there abouts as im low miles and pump was fine

I remember Audi mentioning to me when I bought the car that they usually advise to replace the water pump when doing the belt as it saves on labour.

Is this just a scam?

My car has done 45k. How can you tell if the pump is fine or not?

Cam-belt kit, plus pump £300 fitted at a local VAG specialist in Keighley. My mates a mechanic and also get good rates from him so i assume he'll be about the same, he's based in Bingley, West Yorkshire.

the audi tech checked mine my car was on 30.000 miles and said it was fine they did advise when i booked it tht it should be done i was happy to have it done they just said it didn`t need doing

Audi are going to charge me £250 upto now for belt and pump. They told me they can beat any genuine quote so I'm still trying to beat £250 which I got last week haha

Doesn't it have to be a written quote?

Ive just had mine done at my local garage who i deal with alot and got it done for 200quid which i didnt think was that bad...

Chingford (London) Audi have just quoted me £500 for cambelt and waterpump change.

At the same dealers last year I was quoted £400.

I've also noticed that Audi's fixed price servicing advertised on their website has gone from £329 for just the cambelt to £399.

Leave it till it brakes Ads and its cheaper as they don't charge you for removing the old one :)

Audi were looking £300 I think to do the belt and £500 to include the pump!! Away on lol

I will be sourcing the parts myself and having my mechanic do mine.

Audi in derby wanted £400 for the belt an another £150 for the pump, paid £400 all in at a specialist.

i will try and beat any written quote on anything. we are based in bingley west yorkshire just search on google for ray vaughan and son ltd bingley or give us a call 01274 567662
