Nope, I hate the idea of being in debt/ having a credit card, It's all cold hard work and doing nothing in the middle.
Well over initial budget by about 2k now LOL
But it's getting done properly and that should count for alot

LOL, they are interviewing for my job here in Cheltenham to replace me (as was supposed to happen back in January) so I can go back to my day job....

Oh yeah no way I earned 4k this month, I had enough money to the side for my original budget and I've just been working in the meanwhile to afford the difference.

Well I'm hovering over a £750 purchase for mine - upgrading the Alpine processor to the new H800 combination - not quite 4K though.

I reckon since I've owned the S3, it's seen about £7K of my dollar disappear into it.

£550 on brakes + £150 on new pads
£1k rod change
£2k hybrid
£2k hybrid
£1k clutch etc. labour
£1.5K replacement (****) burned up gearbox and new clutch, flywheel and coverplate
And thats without thinking about it for longer than 10 seconds

Agreed, however I don't do it myself for the money saving, that's just a bonus. I do it because (not all the time) I enjoy it, and it gives me something to do. I don't have time for many other hobbies these days, so in reality, my car/s is it.
There are downsides though, for example when something goes wrong, it falls squarely on your head, as opposed to being able to take it back and say 'Hang on a cotton picking minute here....'
There is a degree of satisfaction when you stand back after doing a job yourself - hopefully that feeling continues after the test drive - LOL
Anyways iv been pricing some kw v1 colli's up today... awesome want £740, deamon tweaks want £530. Or weitec @ around £500 what do you guys think price wise/ kw v weitec?? I don't have a scooby

The only thing I've done to mine is fit the dog bone bush, my rear abs/wheel speed sensor has gone, and I thought about doing that, but I think I remember reading somewhere (a while ago) that it was a bit of a tough job, and I can't find it again to check.

All depends on the money situation peoples....
As I've gone along mate, never had any sort of mechanical training at all - apart from playing a lot with Mecano as a kid, and cars aren't really that different.
None of the rest of my family are that way inclined at all, so god knows where I get it from.
I must be the milkman's.
May make an appearance at ADI this year - only to spectate though - seem a few incidents there.

I've been to the pub, had a few drinks, now good for nothing
I've been good for nothing all day..... lol
PA head on tomorrow for me so I will be assistant sound engineer for the next three days - downside two nights in a caravan - upside the mixing desks and sound engineers will be based in the beer tent.
Won't be on here a four days as I have Monday off to relax as it is a pretty physical weekend - especially as I usually only push a keyboard round.
