I used to have a white S3 with the bucket seats. Had to sell it as I moved to Australia. Im probably going to be moving back before the end of the year. Ive developed a thing for red motors and really fancy a red S3. The only thing is you never see them with the seats in them. Ive seen a few with the red and black leather which is nice but Id feel like I was taking a step down not having the buckets. Sad I know but they were pretty much the only reason I bought the white one. My mates thought I was a nutter! So my question, does anyone know if there are red ones out there with the buckets or should I just stop looking now? Ideally itl have Bose and the optics pack but I can live without these as its easy to do the grille after. Just not that easy or cheap to get the seats.

Yeh I know. Red with buckets and I'l be happy. If I cant find one I'll just have to get a red E46 M3.

As N8 says Rich, just buy your red S3 and pick up the seats separately if you can't find one with them fitted. They do come up from time to time on Pistonheads, Ebay etc. Expensive they are, granted, but if you want them so bad, it would be the way to go as it may be hard to find exactly what you are looking for. Red is sweet though and pretty uncommon. Hope you find one! :)

Its all about buckets with a fresh trim anyway

...or get a set of Mk5 R ones? I still think the VW ones have a better overall design, but the retrimmed ones do look well smart and you can add some personal touches in there.

Nate, go away with your lovely pics of seats I cant afford LOL - I'd like the half leather/half Alcatara plz :)

mmmmmmmm all this talk about buckets is making me want some even more but no way am going to bother with the car i have now

Yikes, looks like a full carbon wrap - not sure thats your thing but personally I wouldnt touch a full carbon wrapped car :S

When you put them next to each other..the black all of a sudden does look a bit bland doesn't it..? The retrim in that colour is a winner dude  love it:yum:

Cheers boys. Supposed to moving back and buying a house. The missus will be impressed when I start spending thousands on seats and retrims! Love the green and the purple. I think a black one with the peanut/brown would look nice. Nearly bought an M3 over here with that combo

Deffo, it was a different colour black anyway, in fact it was almost green, so needed to come out.

Only these, they aint got poop on yours  re-trim in the not so distant future me thinks:eyebrows:

You got an S3 8L I take it?

Hi gents

Just a question around putting buckets in a S3 or A3 for that matter,

What happens to the airbags? how would it work if you remove the original seats and replace them with a set of RS4 seats.
Will they still deploy in an accident or do you have to de-activate them?

Hi Popgun,

Funnily enough you should say that. I've got RS4 buckets in my A3 and obviously the plugs are different. Hopefully they will get fixed soon, I've got a local auto electrician looking at them so hopefully he will re-wire the airbag and the heated seats, so no more error light on the dash!

 Thats the plan anyway, fingers crossed
