My DIS seems to be missing a load of options

I keep reading about the things that people tweak via their DIS such as which door unlock with the fob, when do the doors lock when driving off, using your fogs as DRLs but when I access my DIS all I get is some very basic options to change the clocks and date etc - nothing interesting like above.

What do I need to do to access these hidden options?

My car spec is in my sig

You might be able to do that with newer A3s but for our year A3's (56 plate) all this shizzle is done with VCDS.

Even on the newer ones, I think you need VCDS to do a lot of that stuff, TBH.

So I can change my fogs to run as DRLs using VCDS then? If so, then this is yet another reason why I need to get this software

You can, I personally haven't had it done but i will be doing when I find someone near me with VCDS to set it up for me.

The fogs run at 25% light output all the time, to use your fogs as normal you just turn them on and they are full brightness.

Ive had 2 s3s. One from new in 08, think you call in an 8p2?
When that got to end of it's 3 year lease went for another s3 which is my11
The former had barely any options on the DIS, the later has a whole bunch of options to which you refer so they must of added them in

1) How long are you keeping the car
2) What mods do you want to do
3) Dealer diagnostics are approx £80 a go; visit 3 times and thats a lead paid for
4) Do friends and family have VAG cars - help them out in exchange for beer tokens / favours etc
5) Help out forum members - same as above

Also think of how much you've paid for the car and you realise £250 is not a lot of money for a lead that could save you hundreds of pounds

Can't argue with any of the above, but the only down side is that i have no clue on how to use it.

If you can use a computer, you can use VCDS; its all point and click and the program tells you what to enter

I think i might have to look into purchasing some of this software as it could be a decent earner.

Get the HEX-CAN-USB version as it will do all VAG cars AND it also acts as a generic scanner for vehicles with an ODBII port!!

Drop NHN a PM on here mate as he can supply them :thumbsup: I know some sites want £260+ and I think NHN is cheaper than them

I got mine a few years back in a GB on ukmkivs; paid £175!!
