just hopeing someone as already stripped a dash panel and can answer my problem.....

and how much have you all payed for a cam belt change and water pump

thanks

Hi,

Temp guage illumination, they are LED illuminated not conventional bulbs. Have a look at this thread and you will see the general idea - http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a4-a4-...53-dis-lcd-replacement-guide.html#post1225118 I sold my front facia to another member on here for a few quids, he may still have the temp guage as I think he wanted the fuel one, might be worth a message.

Cambelt - on a V6 I paid £700 all in, but mine was a full cambelt, all the tensioners, pullys, waterpump and thermostat. DOnt go for the cheap cambelt offers as they dont do the tensioners/pullys. Waterpump is a must !

many thanks for the reply !! i was very lucky today that my local agent had got one stripped down and showed me the led's etc think ill leave it lol

I'm probably going to have to get my camblet changed soon - I'll let you know how much it costs.

Hi m8... Been qouted £270 for belt and water pump from a well known v.a.g specialist in the midlands were i live today and the 2nd place i tryed was £300-20 depending if it needs new damper/tensioner or somethink like that ??? but the first person i went to was the one i use very regular and ive known for a while so its going there anyhows as they do all ,y familys servicing who owns vag's etc

That's not a bad price - I got quoted £1100 from Audi and £600 from the (non-specialist) garage I got the car from.

£1100 for a cambelt ??? Ouch, as above cambelt on a V6 Petro I paid £700 all in at a main dealer, but mine was a full cambelt, all the tensioners, pullys, waterpump and thermostat. DOnt go for the cheap cambelt offers as they dont do the tensioners/pullys. Waterpump is a must ! Never ever get a cambelt done without getting the pump changed unless its recent.

At the service today, I got a quote of £620 for belt, pullies, tensioner(s), 'stat and water pump. It's about what I expected.

It's still £100 more than Mrs Seeker's 2.4 petrol A6, though, which is due this year.:crying:
