I don't want to spend hours cleaning my car, so I have a few questions.

Last week I used clay bar (meguairs kit) and finished it off with a quick spray wax.

I can't help but think I have missed a step. Should I now get some decent polish?

I.e, wash it with washing up liquid to be rid of the wax, dry, polish and then wax.

If so, what polish is good for a Mauritius Blue colour?

And is the Meguiars quick spray wax good enough for the job?

a good polish like menzerna final finish will give you the shine your after but its all about prepping the paint first. first of all a good wash routine is vital so wash via the 2 bucket method and a good quality lambs wool wash mitt. the car needs a good claying session to remove all contaminents from the paint beofre you apply any product. i would go into tar and glue but that can come in time.

once the car is as clean as it can be then you can start with the polish, once buffed off then a glaze would be good such as poorboys black hole to give you an extra gloss factor. then comes the LSP(last stage protection) which will be a good wax. all depends on what your budget is but DODO juice purple haze will give you the protection you need or if you want a sealant will give extra protection such as chemical guys black light.

also a good pre wax cleaner will do the paint good

yes mate if you follow what i said on a previous post then you should get a shine your happy with. im assuming your doing mby hand and not correcting paint

Yep, by hand, I read of people spending hours/days polishing the panels on the car, that is not what I want lol.

I don't want to be the Karate Kid, I just want a polish that I can rub on and off with speed. I did a clay bar on the car and was well impressed. But after the clay bar I just used the meg quick spray wax.

Not specifically those brands, but after a clay you definitely need to polish to clear the paint of any swirls or light scratches, followed up by a sealant to lock in your hard work for up to a year and then a wax on top which you just need to top up once a month to keep the car looking tip top.

The full routine is laborious, but if done right it only needs to be done once a year. Having said that, with a machine I can get all that done in about 4-5 hours.

Depends on how good you want your car to look at the end of the day.

You want to buy 'need for speed' by Dodo juice its made for folks who dont want to spend their lives polishing cars hence the name, its a pre wax clenser a polish and leaves a little protection behind, i would follow that up with your wax of choice, my advice on the wax would be blue velvet Pro by Dodo Juice also or Purple Haze Pro and you can buy it in panel pots which will wax a car easily 4 times.

dodo juice is my wax of choice every time i use supernatural now i was using orange crush but i love cleaing my car i love the looks when she is sparkling , when i apply the wax now i hand apply it the finish its gives is amazing but it takes a long time to do

yeah it is , i only bought a pannel pot of it as my old orange crush lasted me for ages , gunna give this a good try out before i buy the full size pot , the quality of it is second to none , obviously there is better out there but for the over all result dodo juice gives a very nice shine and protection , very good value for money plus its british made stuff i think

Yeah, it is good stuff, for now I am happy with my finish, and I don't know if spending more money on products will make such a huge difference.
