I bought a Dodo Juice purple haze extreme tester pot for about £12, enough in there to do my car at least 4 times I reackon which is about 2 or 3 years in my book Smell nice to My Audi Cab is black btw
Depends on what your looking to get from a wax and how often you want to be applying it.
Dodo juice have launched a new product called supernatural hybrid which is half wax and half sealant offering extended durability over their standard range, but still with the bling you want. Ask moosh he knows
Hi Gordy!
Hey Jen!
Yip Super Natural Hybrid is a fantastic wax/sealant and my weapon of choice, gives a better than factory finish but the prep work is key to that
So is wax better then polish? I polish my car every 2-3 months and its looks lush but never as nice as when i first brought it.
x2Cant believe Collinite 476 hasn't had a shout in here, I love the stuff
canubra wax is no good for pearl or metallic colour cars as it doesnt show the flake or sparkle in the colour
canubra wax is no good for pearl or metallic colour cars as it doesnt show the flake or sparkle in the colour as PB has offered the acrylic kit which does show the flake and sparkle.
What Rubbish that is mate total **** talk!
Generally speaking, a sealant will enhance the metallic flake more than a wax.
The way a wax bonds and sits on the paint surface (in a slightly haphazard fashion) refracts light differently. You'll still see some metallic flake but it'll tend to be muted to an extent.
A sealant, due to the uniform way in which it sits on the surface, allows light to penetrate the paint surface more easily and the light is then reflected back up more directly; the light tends to bounce off the flake more, highlighting the flake to a much higher extent than with a wax.
It's a little much to say wax is 'no good' on metallics but it will make the finish seem wetter/deeper but with less flake 'pop' and the finish will seem less reflective or 'shiny'.
A key question I ask when a customer comes in is what type of finish they're after: wet and glossy or sharper, shinier and more reflective.
Due to the way the light is reflected and refracted, this is why sealants tend to be superior on light metallics (silver) and whites. Waxes tend to suit darker colours and solid tones better: reds, in my experience, always look best with a wax.
Thanks John, its not me that needs an education but i agree with what you are saying
but statements like:
'canubra wax is no good for pearl or metallic colour cars as it doesnt show the flake or sparkle in the colour'
are absolute garbage.
Can be so misleading to people new to wax and sealants...
