PaulieMB's Mellow Yellow Progress Thread

Awesome Paulie, i been waiting to see this! will certainly look better with Black optics grill... So jealous of your CF mirrors. Need to find someone who can do this skinning business!!:detective2:

1 question for you; in your interior pic you have a coin tray on the right hand side of the centre console. I have it on good authority that this was phased out in MY08, so did you fit this yourself? I currently have 3 blank bland buttons and I miss my old tray. I'd actually like to convert the tray into a cup holder like my old A3. If you did mod this, I'd like your help to mod it into mine pretty please  Looks like we're local to each other too. I'm surprised I've not seen your car about, it's certainly distinctive.

mine is the same as paulies Rich, if that helps!

Hey thanks Ryan! Can't wait to see it myself Buddy, but looks like I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow lunchtime at least, lol. Ah well, patience is a virtue supposedly, pity it's not one of mine .

Looking good Paulie, get some more pics up when u get it bk.

Cheers Dude, car comes home tomorrow at lunchtime. Guy says it's looking and sounding great, ..can't wait!! :)

Fantastic job Paulie, love the way you are going down the personal touch route rather than the normal bling route :) your mate could make a living out of those mirrors.

Loving the yellow - such a 'happy' colour, and very effective too.

I nearly bought a yellow TT, when I was hunting down my last car, but due to a slight bubble in the dash (where the sun had heated an area, somehow) I refused it, and so ended up with red.....and like Fran, just can't put down the red now....lol

For me, it just makes the best of both worlds - it gives me colour, and something that has reflection too....very useful when you can't put down a machine polisher (I've got issues, I know) :icon_thumright:

Aww thanks very much Paddy! About the mirrors, I know, I told him. His day job is as an engineer, but I am sure he could easily make a very good living out of the carbon fibre stuff. When I tell him this he says it would take the fun out of his hobby for him if he did it full time, but I try and sway him everytime I speak to him and one of these days he's come round, I'm sure, lol.

Cheers Krim! I remember nearly crashing my car the first time I saw a yellow TT, thought it looked as sweet as could be. Your red SB however - especially with your lush rotor arm alloys - totally looks the biz and I can see exactly why you're hooked on it.

Hehe, have patience guys! Don't get it back until tomoz at lunchtime, but the guy at the custom shop updated me this evening, saying it looks amazing (and sounds it too with its new Blueflame TBE and Forge CAI). Will try and get some piccies up tomorrow

That. Car. Looks. Great.

Keep the mods coming!

That is SO lovely, Dude. Thank you! x

You've retro-fitted buckets? With the factory fitted buckets, you have the ESP on/off button and the central hazards. I'm missing the 'Passenger airbag off' button/light as it's not fitted/needed or something like that. Therefore, it's a different trim piece. It looks like I still have 3 separate right hand side buttons, but I think I'll find if I remove the front panel it'll be one entire piece and so the retro-fit coin or cup holder may not be an option unless I really want to monkey with the car.

And Paula, I'm out and about Customdubz neck of the woods at lunchtime, so I'll keep an eye out for ye. :icon_thumright:

Awwwww, sorry I didn't see ya, Bud!!!! Drop it?? It has been dropped and have to say it feels really good, no bangs or crashes and was almost bricking it going over the speed bumps for the first time, but all sweet as a nut, thankfully. Absolutely LOVE IT now Rich!! Will post some pics later on this avo for the other guys who haven't seen my wee beastie yet. Got a few wee bits to do this avo, ..got to say, Customdubz are totally bang on when it comes to modding our cars. Wold recommend them to anyone in the Aberdeen area. Shame I was too busy faffing with my choons and must have missed ya otherwise I'd have been waving like a nutter. Catch you real soon though, for sure. Our cars need a photo shoot together, the 2 colourful yet stealthy sleek beasts that they are.

My centre console is layed out identical to this!

What you mean about the Buckets??:laugh:

Here are a few pics as promised guys. I am over the moon with how she looks now, just love it!! Think she looks pretty mean or maybe that should be pretty, but mean with it, lol. The sound of the Forge CAI is like there's some big air sucking beast under the bonnet, ..well I suppose there is and the Blueflame TBE, not too loud - which I'm happy about - but louder than stock and even with the stage 1 map at the moment, she pulls like a train! Very happy bunny this afternoon, I am.

So here we go, hope you like them -

Aww thanks Farhan, you're a sweetheart. I'm really pleased you like it so much. Can't believe how effective the black is on the Imola! :) x

Oops, sorry. They'll need to settle more, but I was glancing over and watching the traffic in front also, so apologies.

No need to apologise Rich, they will need to settle a bit, for sure. I was watching the traffic myself, mental as it is! :) x
