Displaying Boost on the centre red display

Hi All,

I guess im doing a few things at the same time. Would anyone know if there is a way to display boost and other info on the centre display (S3 8P 2008) via OBD. Kufatec makes it for the VWs and im surprised they dont make it for Audi. Pivot Japan makes a connection but feeds into a 60mm external gauge which there is no place to mount.

There was a similar design for audi's from a hungarian chap from wich the kufatec bought or coppied the design. It used to be big thing in USA, a bit pointless to be honest.

yes rye! Defi gauges all the way, they are very accurate, and they fit in the Osir pod nicely, and they can be got in the right colour to match the Audi dials perfectly....!

That's nice. But can't afford to lose a vent. This is Australia afterall and despite being a cool year u still need all ur vents in summer. How about something that fits under the climate control. Dint mind loosing the ashtray. Don't smoke anyways.

i do like that but i reckon its much more of a pig to fit (the cabling) + i would need to get another gauge! = Plenty of money!!! especially if i go with Defi.

The wiring is the main problem mate, especially as you've got to find somewhere for the defi link you need to run the gauges and all the to/from wires as well as the sensors! There's a few people on here that would do a great job of it I'm sure, but me personally would get someone to do it to achieve the neat finish I'd want in such a visible area of the cabin.... Cost me a small bl**dy fortune last time

I cant believe that so many makers miss on putting a stock boost gauge in their cars. Its an important addition especially when its a known fact that these cars will get modified once they hit 1 or 2 yrs old. Somehow the vent one (smaller one with enough space left for air to pss through) looks like the best option.

hey guys vie ordered the osir vent pods like james just wondering what two gauges would be the most useful.

Yuan - James has one pod? Defo go for the boost. If you for two maybe oil temp/pressure?

Chris - that's why Im gonna go for one in the vent like James. But might try and find a smaller one so it still let's hot air from the heater through. Don't like the idea of hot air being blown at it with nowhere to go! + I get a but more warm air my way!

cheers rye im gonna go for 2 in the centre vents one deaf boost and the not yet decided on the second maybe pressure as got the wayer and oil temp on the dis. seen the defy bf gauges looking spot on saw a boost gauge with the controller for 300 on the bay.
whats your recommendation on gauges

how do you take the vent apart as I have the adaptor but cant take vent apart
