Dane's Hybrid Conversion Thread

for anyone dealing with AH (who have probably done very well from ASN forum members), ask for Lars, NOT Alex.
Daft as it sounds, the owner of the business is'nt the guy you need to speak to, to get work done in a timely, organised manner.

and for the V1 AH fmic - personally, I think its shyte anyhow.. Go for the larger one like Tuffty had made unless you like excessive pressure drop and high charge temps.

And Me!! That will teach me for copying!!! Is there a price for the new BIGGER one??

Check out Tuffty's minor modding thread

anyhows...

look what turned up from Toyosports

vs Tufftys (larger) core

and fogs remain fitable on tufftys.. (not likely on 76mm ends of the toyo tho)

tempting - MrsB Lupo is destined for it.. (now there's a fitting challenge!)

We will see what/if/when something turns up as promised Weds from AH.. I still need to prep two 90' alloy bends and weld it onto the end tanks, from AH', so nothings bolt on.. and will need some "work" done to it.

Hum the toyosport one is looking very tempting just a shame i had bill weld the boss into a bend for the Ah V1 size. Insert face into hand and say DOH

Lol, Bill you tease!

Look at my poor baby!

This is how I managed to keep the 76mm pipes that was on the intercooler that I bought years ago from the USA (when it was good exchange rate)
Nice and short intercooler pipes!

Thats what i thought jojo, is it bills by any chance? Doesnt he run 8 injectors on the badgerwagon?

Yeah that's deffo not my engine lol, and yes iirc the badger wagon runs 8 injectors.

Some thing to keep the thread going

Because I got bored of scaving lifts left right and centre I bought a second car.

She looked like this when I got her

Bought for a bargain at 400 of the queens finest :)

And my mate loves it and wants to go halves and I've convinced him we should try and build a track car, AND I've nearly convinced him that a 1.8t is he way forward - win!

Obviously those who frequent the pub will know all about this and I apologise if it's getting boring lol!

Cheers dude, I havnt decided what the plan for a 1.8t is just yet, I'll run it past Bill for his opinion (he'll probably end up doing it after all) k04 engine or k03 hybrid hybrid.... Stand alone management for sure, but then you get into things like hydraulic clutch conversions...

Hmm, this isn't the most efficient layout though. Air temperature and its densities etc... I'd be interested to see how your FMIC would compare to a identical sized unit with the correct inlet/outlet paths...

Why spend out on standalone when motronic does the job perfectly well?

do you have an engine bay shot of the rest of the pipes?

Is that danes engine? What inlets that?

lol - erm, no.. Unless he wants it :)

inlet is a modified SEM which I did a few years ago. Just had it powercoated.. its not something new, just blinged (erm I mean, low maintenance wipe clean) I have done. - lol

750cc + 830cc injectors live in the twin RMR rails.

depends on the donor which feeds the job & the spec of the engine you stick it on.
DTA for example is what I run because its designed to be mappable, with easy software control, designed for the user to modify... unlike me7, which is not as flexible.. and does'nt support some features standalone's do.

some inspiration for you Dane
mk2 GT30 you've seen here

Still seems unneccessary expense unless its an all out race car with a high spec built engine.

The stock ECU isnt particularly complicated to get working in another home, especially if you choose to simply disable the IMMO. About the most challenging bit would be the electronic throttle if you chose a later donor car, but thats easy solved by buying an earlier one!

Then however, mapping for fuelling is a *****....

you can also limit boost in lower gears to aid traction, I havent even discusssed it with my accompliss (spelling) yet, he might want a vr6
