After 8 years on the season ticket waiting list I finally recieved my email today from Arsenal FC to say I'm now elegible for a season ticket :arco:

Now I cant help but think that this has been speeded up due to the amount of people not wanting to renew their tickets for the coming season due to the price hike and the club not really progressing or signing any big stars.

I have a phone appointment tomorrow with AFC to discuss where I want to sit. They only have upper tier tickets avaible above one of the goals and prices are from £1150-£1400!

Anyone else here an Arsenal season ticket holder???

I'm not a season ticket holder but David Dein visits our office sometimes (he's mates with our MD and we get the odd match ticket every once in a while).
I'll see if I can get you a discount next time he's in. ;)

I'm a Londoner. Johnny Barnes is the reason I support them (and my gran being from up there).

I bet you were born late 70's or early 80's?

I used to like Liverpool when I was a kid and JB was my favourite player too. The rest of my family is Arsenal and my uncle started taking me to Highbury so that was that really.

my mate in the office has a season ticket, although you wont have many players left, if you keep selling!!

above the goals are the better end anyway mate as thats where the hardcore fans are so itll be a better atmosphere. Arsenal fans aint what they used to be though since moving. Highbury was intimidating at times but emirates is pants in comparison!

Chelsea fan btw

Precisely!!! (late 70's).
You can usually tell a londoner's age by the out of london team they support.

Here's something I posted a while ago which you might like (excluding the Clichy bit):

Look who we bumped into last night at a bar.
I didn't have a photo taken with them, I left that to a couple of workmates. I just couldn't face standing that close to a couple of gooners!!

Nice work.

I went to a Thierry Henry dinner in January and had photos with Freddie and Pires.

Highbury had a spine chilling atmosphere and the Hermeroids stadium is total ****e. When I used to borrow a colleagues season ticket there would be different people round me each week and none of them wanted to chant/sing. Pathetic support really.

I used to muck about with a bird who lived in the flats directly next to Highbury, and you're right, the noise was pretty intense at times (from the stadium, not from her bedroom!).

I can remember back in '98 when Arsenal beat Newcastle in the FA cup final, me and my mate decided to be gooners for the day and nicked an arsenal flag from a car and drove around the West End in my mates Punto convertible with the roof down waving the flag and beeping the horn.
We went up a small road and there was a group of newcastle fans, they saw us and started running towards our car. We had to reverse at about 40mph and almost crashed into a taxi!

About half an hour later we felt a massive thud in the back of the car, turned round and there was a gooner wearing a red ronald mcdonald wig on the back seat! He'd jumped into the car whilst it was moving cos we had the arsenal flag and the roof was down!!

Finally got back to north london (via Totttenham) still with the flag flying and some spurs fans didn't like it so ran up to the car and poored cans of lager over our heads.

What a day that was!

Friend has a flat at Highbury which was obviously converted. Lovely place.

I'm a Season Ticket Holder paid £1,480 for my ticket this season... eek. If you look at the dugouts and go back 3 rows and then 5 seats to the right thats where I sit. Pretty good place to be.

When you compare it to the box at Wembley we had which was £80k a year (business not own) least you get value for money at the Emirates although as a Gooner I must say I'm really really ****** off with the way the transfer market is going and also the Kroenke not coming out and saying anything of matter since his take-over attempts.

Look at Henry at Liverpool he's like spend spend spend / support the manager. Look at Arsenal... pains me to see the state of affairs all we get told as fans is...

Arsenal is a business model it's self sustaining on it's on finances etc, etc. fine but try and remember it's also a f**king football club please. Moan United complain about there board but christ least they win things! and if sh*t hit the fan they'd hardly struggle to list the club for sale and find a rich buyer who cover cover all the debts.

/END RANT

Going for a beer

I have a friend who was a season ticket holder for over 10 years. Gave it up a couple of years ago cause he got fed up with the players Arsene was signing.

Well I spoke to the seating people at Arsenal on Saturday and I have my seat for this season.

upper tier, row 14, looking from corner flag to corner flag, and i'm in the singing area ;)

It is costing me £1295 though :crying:

not a season ticket holder, but i am a member. always prefer the upper tier to sit, the view is very good.

lets pray we have a good season with some silverwear at the end :yahoo:

I found an Arsenal season ticket nailed to a tree the other day. I thought "bl66dy heck, I'm havin' that..." Well, you can't have too many nails can you?

Joke!!!, it was a joke :footy:

John Barnes? He was a Watford FC boy, I used to watch him play all the time, still reckon his goal against Brazil should be in the top 10 goals ever!

Hate Liverpool as they won everything when I was growing up. Hate Chelsea because of the money. Hate Arsenal because my wife supports them.
