GTI International 2011 25th+26th June. OFFICIAL THREAD

Superb day...met some old friends and new ones,am just so glad how the day panned out...........annoyed the sprint couldn't be done but dang the blue slush-puppies and the wild boar burgers were sweet.
Big Thanks to Stacey :applaus:

also my wingman Joe and all who helped me in my little indiscretion :arco:

I'm gutted I spent 4 hours cleaning my car yesterday then popped out for fuel for the early start in the morning when all but one of my front near side wheel nuts decided to jump ship!!! My wheel hit my brembo my brembo broke away from the hub and smashed a whole through my alloy and shatter my disc too! Will post some pics on my thread shortly. Was really looking forward to meeting all you guys and running on the strip absolutely gutted!!!

Not too bad just alloy, hub, discs and pads everything else is fine my brembo saved the day cos it lodged itself inside my wheel and stopped the front end from hitting the floor.

Awespome day today, i totally got burnt!!! I turned up and got sent to the carpark, even tho i said i was getting a club stand pass, they seemed to be having none of it :( bum rah! Good day tho, I had a wonder over, some nice audis! Bit shy tho didnt know who was who so didnt say out :p

Hi guys, still cooling off after a great day at GTI International. Baking hot as in 2010. Good to see so many A-S.net members on the stand but disappointing that there weren't more of you helping us to demolish the HUUGE chocolate cake that Stacey bought along!

I had a great day and was especially pleased with my sprint times of 6.58s (revs died off the line), 6.02s and 6.05s 0-60mph and best of 14.4s ET. At last I know what the car is capable of in its current guise (Stage 1 APS Remap) and pretty good for my 1st ever time on a 1/4 mile sprint. I think I'm hooked now though...

Extra special thanks to Stacey for sorting out the stand passes, cake (see above) and BBQ. I've attached some of my pics from the day below. Hope to see some of you at AITP 2011 on 7th August, when I may be bringing the wife & kids with me (whatever am I thinking... :scared2:).

I went on the Saturday; it was still good however Sunday sounded busier, however as is wasn’t busier a friend talked me into going on the handling circuit…..lol
My car is a 1.8T and standard bar the cat back,
I am making my excuses already…….
Wet track so my car spun in first and then changed to second and no boost, also standard suspension meant it rocked like a boat round the corners; however I was quite happy with my time….. LAMO

I arrived late sun.. camped over.. Got too meet few of u..

After only finishing the car friday i wasnt to happy about running it.. but in back of head i just wanted to gage a rough time..

sooo..

0-60 4.8

Just after i set off my dash pinged so let off and looked down.. Luckily it was the abs so planted it down again and managed a 13.3..

All it all still very happy.. early 4s next year

Although I was only there for the morning yesterday, I was really impressed with the turnout and the weather....

Good turnout on ths stand and always good to meet a few of the regulars and also to meet a few new faces as well.

Come to think of it, our stand had a fair few cars on it and thats good considering its mainly a VW show...so well done all for turning up.

I have a few pics too, so will post them up later on :)

Shame about the turnout saturday and weather, but good to see sunday was a better turnout. Will try and get photos up at somepoint, got a vid of dane on the 1/4 mile too. Nice to meet a few of you again. Looking forward to AITP now and a rolling road day too if it gets arranged.

Shockingly yes I still have a clutch i did slip once on the way back on Saturday but it hasn't done since.

I tryed 3k launches on Sunday to save the clutch but they didn't work as well as the big 5k! Fastest from the weekend was 13.91 with a 5.19 second 0-60

Thats good going bud - good work.

Half glad I couldn't make it in honesty, my clutch can't be far from end of life, and I'm pretty sure that some runs up the strip with high power launches would have finished it off :(

Apparently the woman was better at it lol

they always are in my mind but when it comes to the real thing................................................. lol
