Hi all,

Well I've been looking for an A4 for about 3 weeks now and its starting to bug me that I'ven ot found one (thats not been sold already anyway).

So the places Im looking are as follows:

Pistonheads
eBay
Gumtree
Autotrader

Im looking for an A4 1.9TDi 130 with Votex Kit, ideally with leathers (which isnt a deal braker), FSH, and miliage up to 100k ideally.

My budget is max of £5500, but for me to be willing to spend that I would expect the above criteria to be met + for the car to have mods such as 19s/ duel exit exhaust and maybe a remap already done.

Its frustrating as Im sure my criteria is acheivable as Ive seen some advertised with this spec thats sold. However the past 2 weeks hasnt turned up much, although most annoyingly it seems the above pops up in Belfast every other day (although their milage vs price isnt quite right).

So as Im still new to the Audi scene, I was just wondering if there are any other wesbites or forums worth a look? ie is Audi-sport the main UK forum for audis or are there others more likely to come up with some for sale? etc etc

Any input would be appreciated

Thanks
Grangey :)

Good luck with the hunt mate. It took me months to find one which matched my criteria which was just Bose stereo, electric windows in the rear, low milage, sport model, dark interior.

You will find that there are very few with the Votex kit so maybe worth looking at adding this in the future?

Thanks mate, I wish adding it to the car in the future was a possibility as Id love to- however as Votex bumpers are now discontinued they are hard as hell to come accross and you could spend years trying to find one- id rather just have it on from the get go and think about other things!

I guess Il just have to show some patience!

Be patient, I had this trouble looking every single day for 4 weeks, I became addicted to the Internet and almost getting to know each Audi spec on all those websites you mentioned above. It was driving me mad and fustration started to kick in.... You are looking in the wright place but that spec seems to be rare as owners seem to be hanging on to them as Audis are good reliable cars.

You can still source get votex bumpers from stafford /Stoke Audi so no worries there.

Good luck in your search...

V6 cheers but im not looking for an advant nore am i looking for it to be quattro. Are you sure you can still get all the votex bumpers from audi in stafford though???

Stuart thanks but im not looking for quattro. :)

cant see it mate as im not a member?

Edit- and even now im a member i cant see anything in the classifieds. Great forum.

Really hate to see this go but gotta sell up. Its such an amazing car, just love driving this and the attention it gets is mad. Always get comments on the kit and how nice the car looks. Heres the spec:

ah its that one, yeah its on pistonheads, ive contacted the guy recently but hes not come back to me. I certainly would take a look as its only about 45 minutes away from me, my majour concern though is the fact its on 135k at the moment, and after a year or so with me thatl put the milage up to 150k+ which then makes it hard as hell to sell :S- and for the money hes asking compared to what theyre worth with another 15k on the clock i could potentially loose out on nearly 2k in a year (ie theres fully votex'd kitted ones on gumtree at the moment with a few mods with circa 150k for about 3500.), thats why im more inclined to try and find a lower milage example.

Edit- to add- especially when ive seen ones like this go for less Audi : Audi A4 1.9 tdi SE saloon (130bhp) Gmbh RS Bodykit

CJ Cars NI » 03 A4 Tdi Sport *SOLD* : Used Cars Lisburn

etc

That car has always caused me a predicement!

Thats a nice looking car that black one, I'd really not worry about the mileage the 1.9 will run and run and people sort of expect that. The silver one might have sold for less but there's no mention of mileage.

the pistonheads one was 109k, and the NI cars one was 93k- thats the problem as its the milage vs price in comparison to others thats making me a little uneasy.

Im managed to reach the owner of the black one and I think im going to go see it at the weekend, i may aswell take a look before I dismit it. I just get this dreadful feeling if i buy it another will come up fitting my criteria exactly :(

Oh and the black one doesnt mention WHICH tdi sport it is- which is making me think it isnt a 130, especially as its remapped and hasnt mentioned the figures either. But its worth a look, worst case il at least get to see one properly up close and personal

Ok so assuming I go and see the black one tomorrow, given the milage of 133k- what things should I be looking out for? as I would have thought thats around quite a key milestone of under-car stuff showing their age (ie suspension stuff, bushes, ball joints, etc)?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks
Grangey

Oh and looking at one of the pictures, one side looks like its missing two of the jack access covers on the votex skirts- can I get these anywhere (ie are they all a standard size etc or am i screwed because the kits are no longer made?)?

its a pain but you are looking for quite a particular version. I was looking for a good 2-3 months before mine came up. unfortunatley not everything is as quick as google.
mine didn't have leather but I bought that later for £250, and sold my sport cloth for £125. trying to find the votex /gmbh front is near impossible, unless knows something I dont, i've been looking for an s4 front or gmbh front for a long time.

mattrs I thought you can still get the S4 bumpers direct from Audi?

Yeah I know its a matter of patience really, its just so annoying when you have no car! Im really afraid despiration will conquer over main requirements and I certainly dont want to pay more than the going rate.

The most frustrating thing is the fact that they litterally appear to pop up in Belfast every day! I dont know how but it almost looks like 90% of a4s over there were sold with the full votex kit!

The Gmbh kit and the S4 kit is a (relatively) easy retrofit, if you're set on getting the Gmbh kit then of course you restrict yourself to very late 2003 model onwards. Parts Depot have well priced Gmbh front lowers from time to time, and they're not 'that' dear new anyway. S4 parts are a bit rarer, but still available new if you're so inclined.

V6 Quatt mentions that you can still source Votex kits from Stoke Audi, I've never heard that I must say but will stand corrected if necessary! My understanding is that the Votex grilles are virtually impossible to come across. Does anyone know otherwise?

im glad to report that i put a deposit down today on a minter of a b6!

Pics will be up when I pick it up at some point this week, its absolutely immaculate! Im chuffed!

when i pick it up this week some time il post some pics fear not :)

The black one?

It not, how was it when you viewed?

nah not the black one.

The car had clearly been sat for some time, and whilst the stance on it looked awesome, without it being clean it just had that look about it that made you really think its had its hay day, and had the potential for things to start going wrong.

That said looks can be decsiving, and i did give the guy short notice that I was going to view- Hes a student so needs the money for accomodation etc for the next year and he was honest about it being sat etc and he was working that day and he hadnt driven it in a while as he stopped his insurance i think.

The car has potential, but i think certainly given how the exterior looked its not worth the money hes asking, if it looked as clean as it did in the pics though it maybe more realistic. I just managed to pick up a bargain on the one I found which had less the half the milage on the black one so whilst it was the top of my budget, the car ive got will hold its value far better, and to be fair i could probably sell it on for profit immediatley if i wanted to (but wont) :)

Looks like im picking up the new beast tomorrow :)

Bodywork on the black one though was pretty clean, no dents and only immidiate scratch I could see was on the bootlid, and one pin dent in the rear bumper. Engine was very quiet though and didnt have any concerning noises, hes also done all the mods himself and bought it from a lady owner previously so its not like the car has a history of being abused or anything.

Yep, confirmed collection tomorrow eve at 6pm. Chuffed :):):)

nah its litterally standard but the milage after much deliberation just sold it to me it really did, not to mention its condition.

Its a tdi 130 sport in like a dark sliver/grey colour, with full factory fitted votex kit, and double din 6cd changer, and the 3 spoke steering wheel. All black interior (as apposed to light a light grey that i saw in the black one), with only 62k on it with FSH and cambelt done last year at 53k. I have the purchase receipt for the car that the owner paid £6900 for it only 8 months ago, and it really doesnt surprise me either! Fully hpi clear and legit milage. So given the milage of all the other ones in my budget currently, i could drive this car for 30k more and still easily get my moneys worth.

Il just add the leathers, suspention, exhausts, etc etc over time :)

Nice one Grangey...I think I saw that one on piston heads. good buy saw it for 5300 ono nice rare colour:yes:

Yeh I spoke to the the student too about the Black one. It was a 5 speed, had basic interior with 4 spoke wheel, folding mirrors electric sunroof. The BBS LMs reps were scuffed slightly on2 wheels, but overall car looks nice.

Good luck with your new ride.

a pic my mate took using camera+ when we picked it up earlier :)

having sold my car over 2 months i'm still searching for the right motor

what about the GMBH kit cars like from late 2003, early 2004 + onwards

I actually prefer those
