Its been sluggish starting every morning & has been jumping when idle but I thought I would have confidence in it..... and carry on....but on the way home from work tonight it started to go really lumpy and jump when idle which continued whilst I was driving, the turbo wouldn't kick in, it smelt of eggs & the engine management light come on....coil packs??

On a plus I had already booked the day of work tomorrow so I could have the electric window fixed and the CD player fitted....but little problem may need fixing first now:crying:!!

Bad luck, yeah it could be coil packs, there getting to that age....did you hear about the free coil pack exchange for push down coils? there was a recall ring audi up with your car details...

Yes I have been told, going to have to get it sorted tomorrow ...gutted

A bit shocked at this, was it your driving that done it Emma :undwech:

Sounds like coil packs IMO, but the eggy smell sounds like the cats, hopefully if its coil pack related the eggy smell may clear up when its running right.

Hopefully just coil packs and it will be up and running again...

Bad luck there Emma. Hopefully will be the last of Yr problems and you can start enjoying the ****** thing ;)

I know I am gutted, I thought I would have the window fixed and the cd player in for the weekend....and now I am going to have to sort this first..:noway:

Coilpack is only a two minute job

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
Not as bad as my problem, cup holder wont eject.
I called Audi yesterday and got mine booked in for Monday to have the coil packs done.

It might be as bad mine won't even drive :sorry: I should know the verdict later this morning....

eggy smell would be the smell of running on 3 cyl

Do you know if your's is mapped? If you ain't sure then just let Audi know that you don't want them to do any software updates :)

Update

Just been to pick up my car.. luckily it was the coil packs causing the problem, Audi replaced all 4 under warranty and have given me a 2 year warranty on the new ones.

My drivers side electric window has now been repaired..

I just manage to get my CD player picked up it look greats, but sadly there is no power going to it the person before had cut all the wires so I am going to have to wait until next week to get it wired up!

In between all of the above I managed to get a flat tyre and got that sorted as well.

Very productive day!!

Tomorrow he will be getting a clean and polish!!

Nice one, glad it was just the coil packs.
Funny how girls call them he, and boys girl them she.

Glad to hear it was only coilpack's em's.

Bummer about the radio but you don't need one of those just listen to the engine that's music in its self. :thrashi:

Give him a clean and post up some pics....
