There's not a lot i miss about my old Golf but i do miss this

AS nice as an RS6 steering wheel would be I can't justify the price so I have thought about picking up a cheap S Line wheel and having it re-trimmed.

My questions are;

1) What sort of cost would it be to re-trim in the same material as the R32 wheel
2) Is it possible to pad out the grips at the 10 and 2 position and make it more chunky?
3) Or is there an alternative wheel similar to the R which doesn't break the bank i.e under £200

Any replies / suggestions would be great

Cheers
Rhys :)

I'm kinda in the same boat, I'd like my flat bottom re-done in silver stitching but would it cost less to sell mine & buy the OEM one???

me to mine is not in the best condition if im honest 92,000 miles of use have taken there toll on it i was just thinking of having the standard one retrimed in alcantara but obviously a spare one didnt used to like alcantara steering wheels but now do weird lol

I'm sure Nate can give you a price to get it done in Alcanara. I'm planning to get my triangles done, will enquire about the wheel too.

N8 is the built in headunit that youve got any good ive got it included on my new car

surely the steering wheel could be padded out, its get stitchied over after all so you could maybe use shaped wood or plastic if you had the tools/time+patience to make some fitted chocks?

I think it would look a little "Heath Robinson" to put it kindly.

suppose it depends who was carrying out the work all it is, is a bump on eitherside after, its getting covered so it doesnt matter what material was used underneath. It obviously wouldnt hav the cuts below it unless you did a really good job on it but that isnt what he was asking.

I'm with rockape, Factory steering wheels FTW - I'm not about the homemade Blue Peter steering wheels

I wouldnt have one in my car, and i with you with the factory steering wheels FTW but the fact is he asked if it was possible so I was just advising him that yes it quite possibly is. . .
