Hi All,

After fitting my RNS-R, Rhyso has kindly offered to code it for me.
Is there anything else good that can be 'activated' when coding?

Thanks

there is a list of stuff somewhere in the 8p section of things that are cool to be activated with vcds cant remember where it is tho, one touch total closure is cool instead of holding down the button to close the windows you just hold it for a second and it closes them auto , has yours got coming home/leaving lights im assuming yes as you have xenon's

Yeah I have the coming home lights. I will have to look see what other cool things there is to activate.

Got a link? Il be trying out my new cable tomorrow and will be interested in trying a few extra things.

You can also code your horn to 'chirp' when locking or unlocking the car. I did this on mine last week.

WHite DIS didnt come out until the facelift models didnt it? As I test drove a 08 and a 09 plate with the red diss that both had it

Guys sorry to hassle but could someone with VCDS experience help me out. I bought the cable mainly to reduce steering assistance and bring the xenon headlights up a bit.

For the former: i read the section about steering assistance an dim all confused. it seems like in the pre06 u could actually change the amount of steering assistance but in post06 u can only change the level of steering assistance in relation to a speed value. Ok so its not as good as pre06 but i still want to change it. I'm quiet happy with how the steering wheel feels at 70+ km/hr but its the lower speeds that annoys me. How do I go about changing it. Please bear with me as i looked at the Ross Tech website and all i saw where all i can do under 44 is checking torque sensor and steering sensor but cant see steering assistance value.

For the latter: can i adjust the xenon lights height without doing any manual adjustments?

Many thanks

No you cant use vcds to adjust headlights up/down, its manual setting according to your countries mot requirements, vcds just has an mot mode to do this manually.

Thats a mistake to do this, as you're effectively telling your module its an A6, if your module supports that coding in the 1st place, your choice, but I wouldnt.

Alright, all sorted. Well at least the xenon lights are. After going on VCDS, and going into the xenon module, an alignment error came up that somehow Audi service managed to mask. I could not do a new adaptation and basically was stuck so went to the meas values and noticed the rear sensor was giving a very low value on flat surface (15%) while it should be between 50 and 78% I believe. So went under the car and there it was, the so called Audi mechanics, suppose to know what they are doing, who replaced my rear diff, put the sensor bar in the horizontal position rather than vertical. I was fuming and cursing. Great build quality out of Germany but i had nothing but grief everytime something went slightly wrong as they take 3-4 visits to fix it but manage to ruin something else (rear diff was replaced due to them damaging it when replacing the seals, damaged door alum trim when replaced the window regulator, new trim under warranty etc). A socket wrench and a spanner and turned the sucker around and baaam!! al back to normal, no faults, light adjusts to changes in rd heights perfectly and the xenon range is back to what it used to be. Thank god the warranty and free service period is over and now i will take it to third party audi specialist.

The one thing i was disappointed about is that it was not possible to access the steering assistance to change the values. That feature apparently removed in 2007!! whyyyyyy. I hate u for doing that VW group. I know people with GTIs who replaced the steering rack motor with an older one to get the feature back. So now il have to depend on the springs, sway bars and some negative camber to improve steering feel.
