I've already got braided lines for my stanard S3 brakes but I need new ones for the Porsche brembos as the existing ones won't fit.

what hoses you need then just porsche ones and will they fir straight on im a bit torn between your s3 brakes and a set of 4 pots it not for a while till i will be getting them which ever i choose still waiting on bro for a price for ya m8 will txt him now see if he has anything

The braided hoses I need have different sized bolts for the Brembos. If you can get a set of Boxsters like mine for under £200 then carriers £100, lines £50, pads £130, and your bro can refurb them cheap you'll be looking at a 4 pot setup for around £500.

hehe i aint gonna tell ya what i can get the brembo's for lol well got a price for a used set of 6 pots for £90 just to me only lol

Oh you ******* Paul :)

You'll have to get in the gym and build up your right leg to be able to apply the brakes though.

I hope your bro can do me a nice little price on my refurb :whistle2:

lol if i didnt have me bro i would be Fcuked with parts dont think ive ever paid retail on parts.

yeh me too he was moaning the other day he had no chocolate for work if he does this job for you should sort him out for a bit lol.

i think 6 pots would be ott on the a3 when mapped only gonna be running 240bhp with roughly equal torque may have no lungs left if i stoped with 6 pots on, had a dabble in there track car last year that had 8 pots tunned to 5or 600 bhp carnt remember which and when i braked for 120mph down it was like hitting a brick wall lol

I know the feeling mate. I've spent £2K in 2 weeks and I've lost count of what lies i've told to the GF about how much stuff costs!!

lol i just say it was free or only couple of quid what ive done to the car l8ly lol the wheels were fun and games £650 including tyres told her they were bro's old wheels he didnt want untill crimbo day when bro's gf said when did you get your new wheels just looked at her to say shut the **** up then it started u spent money on new wheels how much every 5 mins just felt like grabing a gun and saying just shut the **** up woman (was playing cod at the time lmao)

i think the funnyist look i got off her was when i stripped the 106 gti picked her up 1 day full interior next day all gone 2 bucket seats and harnesses going out for a meal and that with m8s so she was in a dress with heels it was a picture she just looked at the car then me as in to say wtf where did every thing go, i couldnt stop chucking to myself every time i booted it all you could hear was bwaaaarp bang bwaaaarp pop pop pop bang bwaaaarp.

i love stripped out cars but not in winter foook me they cold inside lol

I just don't mention what's being done, unless it can be seen, and then I say it was 1/2 the price of what I actually paid for it! It's alot easier that way..

Knowing what you know now Westy, if you were doing it again, would you still recommend that intercooler and setup that you went for? Also mate, what did you pay for the rear tie arms if you don't mind me asking? I'm assuming they are from S3dave?

I've not fitted the FMIC just yet so dont want to make judgement just yet. The smaller ins/outs isn't an issue because 2 63mm to 57mm reducers was only £10 delivered then I can use all the other hose I ordered.

The tie arms are from s3dave and you'll have to PM him for a price but they are a lot cheaper than anywhere else and very good quality.

im slightly tempted by these tie arms of dave's its just i know how good the forge arms are.

Dave's copied the Forge ones design wise and they are good quality. Dave owns his own Steel fabrication company so he's a handy chap to know. He's going to knock up some FMIC mounting brackets for me too ;)

What size is the pipework already on the car that the FMIC pipes connect up to? Just wondering whether it's easier to buy and source pipes myself or just buy one of the kits off eBay.

The standard smic pipework is 63mm hence why I bought a cooler with 63mm in/out to try and keep it all the same. Obviously that didn't happen though :( not sure if the hoses are smaller on the A3 though.

nay no news m8 he will answer his phone at some point unless he in the spray booth then wont get answer from him till 2nite sent him 2 txt's will keep onto him as i know he will say u never told me when i clearly did lol

s**t lol i mean yeh forge with auto bahn clips

Yours are 63mm pipes, but you lose the fogs and I want to keep mine as standard looking as possible, meaning that I want to keep the fogs. I think all the ebay jobbies are 63m.

Also Paul, the pipework that leads to the TIP, can it go along the side of the engine a bit more/rather then above it as it seems most A3's seem to have?

yep mine does exactly that will get some pics up if got chance at weekend stick me head under and show you the route will look at the gap in mine as hine has loads of the crash bar cut out to fit it in the reason why the fogs have gone if you can mount it behind the crash bar 63mm will be fine.

either that or put 2 sharp 90 degree bends next to the fmic so you could only have about 4" of pipe showing with the fogs covering the rest

Cheers mate, that'd be great. Be glad when I've got it done and fitted, as there are so many variations and options that it's just a pain in the ***. It's a shame that the s3 setup is not the same, or I could have just copied Westle, sorry W3stys list of parts.

Had my S3 brake setup on now for 600 miles... Bedding in nicely, they give superb performance don't you think Reesy mate

I can't believe how different they are, and I've only got the front ones done, although I've got braided lines as well.. Where did you get the rears from mate?

he works at ninemeister which is a porsche tunning place in warrington,
he is on the pannel and paint side in there but has worked for black diamond in past building gearboxs and done good couple of years mechanics at other places bit of a know it all when it comes to car's

Reesy I bought the entire S3 caliper, both front and rear, from a VW/Audi brake specialist on eBay. He had reconditioned them, put new pistons and seals in and powder coated them red. Good price mate. The 256mm disks are from black diamond.

Syvo, does that mean he is able to assess the cost of
body repairs? If so, we need to talk :)

how do you mean assess? he can do body repairs to an extent from home anything else would have to go through the books he knows of some places that are good for dents etc.
