I guess I actually have crud catchers - not the old type of mudguards, the black plastic type that just fix in one place.

Likewise it isn't cool to arrive at work with a skid mark up the front and back

I'm still waiting to pick my damn alloys up! Was suppose to be Friday then delayed to Saturday, then it was suppose to be yesterday and now it today, let's see if they are ready yet! mofooooos!!

I really really hope my new ones arrive before inters!

Ok guys, back onto bikes.

I've just applied for the bike to work scheme as I work fo local goverment I can get a £500 bike for £300.

Help me find a bike people.

I need a bike for the toe paths with front shocks.

Used to have boxer world cup on my old v10 they'r awesome, easy to set up and run forever. You don't wanna be putting them on Yr XC bike dude they will **** Yr head angle right up thats if they'll fit Yr headset. They'r ment for freeride/ DH bikes so if you ain't dropping off or hitting some serious trails they will make Yr ride ****e and totally pointless since it's a hard tail. You prob won't need more than 150mm and that's pushing it. If you need more travel than that you'll need think about changing the type of bike you have.

You're right, but i want 200mm so i can just lark about with it

Plus i wanna see what it looks like having the front end up that high

Smudge You'll feel like yr peddling up hill all the time ;) and You'll just end up snapping Yr frame dude usually just behind Yr headset on the first drop off lol. That bike ain't made for thrashing. It's an XC bike

Bit of cutting around the pipes and it will be a good fit.

Smudge, look at jump bikes (i think that's right) they have big front forks and low saddle.

OK, mine are ready to be picked up, should get them in about an hrs time! :)

Got my new babies, the woman is not impressed I'm like a child with a bag of sweets! Shame it's raining outside, really wanted to trial fit to see if I need spacers for a good stance!

My old frame which was exactly the same as this seemed to cope alright, and that was absolutely caned  only time it let go was when it got wrapped around a tree at about 20mph :(

As said you sound like you should have a jump bike or freeride/ all mountain so you can go up and down. Or go full on DH then it's acceptable to push it up hill haha and way more fun on the downs ;)
God I need a new bike.

What you wanna use it for?? Commute( Tarmac)/ clearing 20ft road gaps on Yr lunch break ??

I cant get a used one as it's part of a "Bike to Work" scheme so I get a brand new bike tax free then they take monthly payments out of your salary.

Thats exactly what I'm doing, going for a look around some shops tomorrow. See my thread in this section.

I've not found that in my experience. They charge you mrrp for the bike, they can't discount it, but thats the only stipulation.

When I was buying mine the shops I went to always quoted me a extra 10% on to the price soon as I mentioned the cycle scheme.
I emailed the cycle scheme people to ask them if this is normal or even correct and they said it is. Shops do it to cover tax/charges they incur.
Bit **** really and when my cycle scheme ended they offered my 3 options.
Buy the bike for £150, give it back to them or pay £45 for extended rental for 36 months.

Maybe it depends on your scheme provider, I think they revised the scheme not many months ago. I'll be wary of it though so thanks for the heads up.

In that case you might ad well get a loan a get somat decent for Yr money. Or will you make such a significant saving going through cycle to work scheme

I saved about £100 on my bike using the cycle scheme.
You will always save money when using the cycle scheme.
I don't think its a great saver as it once was.

They reckon you save up to 55%, but I think 30% is more typical on the prices I'm looking at. The installments are deducted at source so it's the happy feeling of not paying tax :)
