AS.NET RING TRIP

Going to wait until next year now to do this as I should be going to bestival in September now. This thread has got me wanting to go out there now though (hopefully with some ASN members) and waiting till next year means I can have the car sorted before going, just hope the ring will still be open next year. Hopefully see some of you at GTI International though.

Hopefully next year then mate. I've had 2 of my mates drop out now too but it'll still be a good trip. Wait till you see our photos, you wont be able to wait till next year :sly:

all booked up at the Burgstube so far.

Who else is up for it?

the trip will go ahead regardless of numbers, we only had 3 cars a few weeks ago, and had a brilliant trip.

it would be nice to meet a efw more of you folks though!
 
i'm definately up for this, Westle, I hear you have some spare rooms booked up? if so, may i pinch 2 beds please? :)
 
Just thought I'd post to let my interest known. I need to chat to a couple of mates over the weekend and sort out some finances but I'm absolutely keen to do it!
 
Very keen on doing this something i've always wanted to do, think there will be me and a mate with a tt with our misses but wont be booking for a month or so as on holiday in just over a week, im in essex where are you boys from as would be keen on meeting and going in a convoy if alright?

Im in hertfordshire and my mates and I tend to meet at te shell garage in Harlow Essex on the junction for the M11 so you could convoy with us.
 
Been really bored today so decided to design a window sticker for this trip. This was based on a design that I did in 2008 when I did a big trip. What do you guys think?:

I dont think I'll be going this time round.

But who here has heard of the Modball Rally? It looks great! Everyone should check it out, 8 days of driving, 3000 miles, hotels and crossings paid for, and all for £995 per person based on 2 in a car.
 
If the misses lets me, I'm in! We're saving for another house atm so I need to get her on a good day ;)

I'll put the word out to my NL boys and see who fancies it...

Dammit. I'm going to have to miss this as well now. I now have the delights of going to a wedding that weekend instead. I guess I'm doomed to go on any car trips this year :(

A lot of my mates talk the talk but dont walk the walk. The guy who sits next to me has been talking about coming in his SL(ghey)K for the last 3 years but always comes up with an excuse when the trip comes round. Another one of my mates has pulled out due to being a pansy.
 
Same here mate, everyone wants to come, but nobody will commit, then often, those that do commit and say they're comming find a reason to back out in the last few weeks and waste the ferry ticket!

How many beds do you have spare to Fill? Me and Rob have two rooms booked and deposits paid, you have 6 beds in total don't you? I'm guessing that's you and a pax, plus Plunky and his pax, and 2 spares? I've still not yet heard from Dan (audi1.8tdan) so if there are two spare beds I'll give him a shout

Yeah 2 beds left out of my 6. I was holding the last 2 for mates but nobody is committing. At the moment I don't even have a passenger, my mate is taking his A5 and he doesn't have a passenger either!

Could always open the pax spot up to forum memebers too if you get stuck!

That's the plan mate. I've sent out another chase on the events wall on bookface and if none of my mates are interested i'll have another 2 beds to go to forum members.
 
I managed to get an S3 on GT5 and tuned it up the same as mine will be when we go in september. Been doing 8:30ish laps which I wont get anywhere near in the real world!

The car doesn't handle like my real S3 either and it doesn't change into 6th gear till 135mph WTF! Anyway it's good practice just to familiarise myself with the track.
 
lol that reminds me off top gear when clarkson was tying to do that with the honda nsx on a track carnt remember which track i know it had a bad bend at the top.

What's wrong with that? The redline in 4th gear in my 5 spd A3 is about 125-130mph, and that's 5 speed.

Surely the S3 will pass 120 in 5th easily? Bobs Leon can reach 130 in 5th I'm sure before needing 6th

S3 will do 120+in 5th gear, Seat LCR's are longer geared than S3, they can hit 60 in 2nd.

Kinda hard without my main Chef and me to keep things in check over a weekend mate, but i'm still pondering on going, will keep you guys informed.
