So my A3 2006 S-Line Sportbacks been at the bodyshop since Monday.
having an S3 2007 Front Bumper/Votex Side Skirts & S3 2007 Lower Rear Bumper being painted+fitted.

... and the damn rear bumper won't fit.
This is the part I was most confident with based on forum feedback/part numbers I had been given
but they say it's around 3-4 inches to short in width so I guess I've actually got a 3 door
rather then 5 door lower rear bumper/defuser.

So, first question:
Has anyone who's doen this conversion got correct part numbers for a sportback.

second question:
Anyone:want to buy a 'as new' S3 lower rear bumper/defuser in silver?

George

That's the thing, from what I'm told I can use my existing s-line upper bumper, and I was under the impression the lower part of the S3 bumper and the grey defuser then clips onto the existing upper part of my s-line one.

Maybe I've got confused with part numbers, but it looks like I've got a 3 door lower bumper all sprayed-up!
Will wait till I pick it up from the bodyshop tomorrow and confirm the part number of the bit I've just got sprayed.

George

Yes your exhisting S line bumper is the same as an s3 mate ,So sounds like you are correct ,You have the 3 door parts .
You will have no trouble shifting it ,But it means you have to source another .I will keep my eyes peeled for you

Thanks mate, gutted as I'm sure it had the right part number but will check when I collect from the bodyshop tomorrow.
Looks like it's a 3 door bumper then... ready to fit it anyone's interested?

If you could keep your eyes peeled Lingy, as obviously I want to get the car complete as I originally intended.
George

They didn't offer it up to check it was the right part before spraying it?

ah that's a killer George, I'll keep an eye out for you.

You also have a PM mate :)

What paintshop you using as I reiterate what Mut said, all painters I know always offer the parts up 1st, unreal they didnt spot this, surely you test fitted fella?

They fitted the front bumper prior to fitting, as this was the part I was concerned about.
Was 95% confident with the rear bumper, based on part numbers I had been given and feedback from forum members.

If you have the two bumpers side by side you would hardly notice the difference in size, hence why both of us missed the fact it was slightly different.

Don't worry, I've learnt my lesson.... the hard way.
Just need to get the correct part number so the same mistake is not made again, but this time I'll be asking Audi.

The correct part number is above .not only is it on my sportback it was also given to me by Matt Andrew
So rest assured mate these are the real deal
If your buying the parts from Audi ask for money off i got a good chunk off recently

Thanks mate.
Just to confirm, the part numbers are for the 8P2 2006-2008 S3 Sportback?

Pita, but nearly there mate... endure lol. To be honest if you've given them to a non audi specialist and told them they are the right parts for your car then as u said lesson learnt mate... it happens.. Can't really fault them for not checking it fits prior to spraying it tbh.

Looking forward to seeing how it looks when finished mate :)

Got my car from the bodyshop yesterday and I'm vert happy with the front S3 Bumper and Votex Skirts.
Just a shame about the rear bumper... must have got my wires crossed somewhere along the line.

OK, I can't see a part numper on the lower bumper itself, but the bag it was in has this:
8P3 807 434 G 1RR (can anyone confirm if this is for a 3 door?)

Part of the Valence has this on it:
8P3 807 521 S

Any help appreciated.
George

Yep, 8P3 807 434 G is for a 3 door.
Sportback parts start 8P4.

Note:- some 3 door parts also start with 8P4 too, but only if they share that part with a sportback. But as far as I know NO sportback parts start with 8P3.
