Bulbs to replace Halogen DRL

These arrived Saturday morning (or maybe Friday, not thinking straight today).

But, like I said, I couldn't get the resistors onto the wires so the DIS is beeping at me saying there's no DRL bulbs in.

Looking good mate. I had the same problem, you've just got to "crimp" them shut with a pair of pliers and they stay on the wires no problem.

Got the little turds to fit with a mixture of swearing and brute force, but was still coming up with error on the dash. Back under the bonnet to recheck that the connectors were on properly, and that I'd cut onto the right wires... all OK. However, on closer inspection, the error says "Side/Daytime Lights"... I had the sidelights in the wrong way round - or maybe just not seated properly . Got them in right, snipped off a few bits of plastic to run the wires for the resistors out into the engine bay, and now they all work fine (no more beeping at me)!

Guys i can probably help you all out with this ive run a car lighting company here in the uk we specialise in HID and led and having been importing and designing it since 2002, ive a 09 a3 (non oem xenons) im having some leds made up which will be computer for the drl friendly so no more error messages, they will be available for the 2003 > 2008 model and then the new 2009> onwards model. I did send a pm message to someone on here about arranging a groupbuy (cant remember who ) but didnt get a response.

Can anyone put me in touch with who is it who runs the groupbuys as im sure theyre would be plenty of interest for the other models too

Can you guys make up led light bulbs for all the interior lights as well (map reading lights, foot well, boot lights, main console dome light)? If so would be very interested. Don't really want to go down the route of making up 'bulbs that work' by using various resistors.

Yes we should be able to m8 we currently do a full kit like your talking about for the e46 bmw`s, il have a look into it for you further.

Do you think there will be much interest in the LED DRL?

Whos the admin member who deals with groupbuys?

If you can get a full pack with all the interior bulbs as white LED's (not the blue crappy look) I would definitely be interested! I haven't bothered to see how many bulbs there are and what types but off the top of my head i would guess a full kit would have about 12 bulbs? (footwell, puddle lights, map reading lights - front and rear, dome light, boot light, number plate light)

In my opinion, for what it's worth, this guy has found a problem with the lights and they do not perform as he has stated !

However, if I'm wrong then this post will get him ge'ed up to at least reply !! If he doesn't reply then we will know that I was right in my assumption !!!!

Cool, mine is the pre facelift 2008 S3 and I believe I have the P21Ws. A couple of questions:

1) The P21W have been tested and no error? Built in circuit or resistor?
2) What is the heat release like? do they make the assembly any hotter than stock?
