alloy wheels refurbed

just thought i would post a few pics of a set of alloys wheels i recently refurbed took me a long time to do them but the results speak for themselfs really

I think alot of the guys are not aware you have professinal equipment at your disposal Fran haha, nevertheless for start to finish thats quite a job

thanks all i did them myself yes they took me blooming ages to rub down as i didnt want to score the alloy faces with the grinder we use on the edges of the alloys as the faces are flatish , im just showing waht i can do thats all really lol im thinking about doing alloy wheels as part of my detailing i do outside of work but its still in the planning stage at the mo got to do all the figures and work it out if its worth me doing it or not

Wow, really good finish, did you do them yourself, if so what method did you use?

what i basicly did was jsut rub them down with 120 grit paper then 500 grit then 1500 grit to get a nice smooth finish to the damaged parts then rubbed down the good bits so they have a nice key so the paint sticks better , grey primer , bmw titan silver base coat , 4 coats of clear coat everything done with rattle cans no pro paint guns at all all but hand it took me in total about 10 hours to do all 4 wheels and by the time they were fini i didint have much in the way of finger prints left lmao

I have just done the same with my S3 alloys - this time i took my time and got a really good finish

good man if you take your time the finish is so much better at the end rushing them just doesnt seam to get the same finish at all prep work is only half the story the painting has alot to do with it too

Thanks for the step by step will give this a go on mine fran. If I have some kerbed quite badly and need to fill them what filler is OK to use?

no probs mate , normal body filler should be ok to use just try not to use too much of it if you get me
