Dane's Hybrid Conversion Thread

Hello Dane,

Glad to hear you are enjoying the car, did you have a finished figures or is there still work to be done??

There's still afair amount of Power to find yet as the turbo is it's just not workable, CR have sent a new hot side to bill to fix that but there are plans afoot! I'm just going big port head shopping :ninja:

Lol nope I just over budgeted ;)

Ah I see, Hurry up then, we are waiting!!

Hope things go a little smoother this time around.

It kind of makes sense at this point and it is probably the best way to achieve Wellyesque performance that the manifold deserves :ninja:

Welcome back westle!

humm... looks a bit black doesn't it... I paid 100 quid for mine mate... I'd watch it but look for others... drop the seller a question asking about the mileage...

I would advise getting the exhaust guides done whatever you end up with...

<tuffty/>

Timing brother, advancing timing!

Oh yeah no valves...

Lol, you big girl, what do you need them big porsche brakes for anyway?;)

yeh, you need to find ones that are auctions so they'll sell for what they're actually worth, rather than someone making up crazy price on a buy it now.

I baught a brand new head from ebay and it was £100, with new cams and a new tensioner, albeit with no valves.

Looks good that does Dane!

I still can't believe that a stock large port will flow better than even a ported small port. feeling rather smug about having a large port on the track car now :)

Small port definitely feels more punchy low down though with a tiny little turbo like my ko3S on the daily.

Did you get my PM earlier Dane? or did I imagine sending it?

Dane have you thought about paying the extra money and getting a rebuilt one from the engine shop in kent, or another engine shop? I think they are around 550 but they build it to your spec (only standard parts) so you can get an AGU/AEB head with all the vvt chain tensioner and other stuff you will need. Im thinking about it for my build as i just found out the AEB head i bought off ebay is f***ed ! plus you get 12 month/12k mile warranty.

Hmm the warranty is mighty tempting... but then it's a whole lot more aaah! I need to make a desision before this chap sells the engine whole.

I certainly wouldnt be paying £200 for a head, that will almost certainly need work to make it spot on.

I've seen AEB heads sell on ebay for £30 in the past.

Hold out for one on auction at a decent price, and use the money you've saved to have the guides replaced, valves recut and whatnot.

yeah my thoughts had gone in that direction. I shall just be patient...

Ok, I'll give you that one!

you're going to be gutted when you find the tyres are too big ;)

:) Ill save it for when your least expecting it...

Suuweet, love you man! I'll pop over Saturday for a chat as ever lol
