Hi All,

Would some kind person be willing to have a look through my recent 3rd gear WOT log in vcds (~1100-4700rpm) >> LOG-01-002-115-004.csv << and comment on the following concerns:

- Based on my mods, do you think 142g/s air flow at full boost is a bit low?? Shouldn't it be more like 160-170g/s?
- Does the max engine load (178%) look ok ?
- If you plot requested charge pressure vs actual, you'll see until about 3400rpm, actual boost lags quite far behind requested, then overtakes, then tails off... is this normal?
- Intake air temp seems quite low, then decreases under load, since I don't have a front mount, is this normal?

Thanks very much everyone :)

Alex

Looks like you have got boost leaks to me! No A3 is complete without them haha!

Hoses to check first are the one that is on the lower right hand side of the cam cover, and the ones under the inlet manifold. If they are as I suspect all perished and in need of replacement I would suggest a PCV delete for you.

Also, go for a quick spin with the MAF disconnected and see if it livens it up at alll.

Thanks mate - I thought it might have been a boost leak, but I get to 1.4bar which is just over 20psi. That seems like a reasonable figure for a stage 1 remap on a ko3S. I'll check all the hoses anyway though, and try running without the MAF sensor for a short while.

Any comments on the other logs?

What block do you log mate, and I'll compare it to my mapped k03s if you like?

It will get to 20psi ok, but without the boost leaks you would find it would make 24/25psi with the same effort if you know what I mean. The turbo is giving the 20psi or there abouts your intake is asking for, but spinning its tits off to give it.

Otherwise the log doesnt look bad, I would suggest having a friend opperate the the laptop and doing a first through sixth with a redline in every gear so we can see it under FULL load.

Hi Guys,

Klappe, I can't do 1-6 redline as the roads where I live aren't long enough - 3rd gear to redline will have to do. Here is the graph I produced using the VCDS log from my 3rd gear redline run I did today:

Again, boost lags behind requested for quite a while, torque delivery seems quite rash (and comes out as 204bhp at 5440rpm, which is a lot less than what it should be with my mods). Air flow tops out at just over 160g/s which seems low. What do you guys think??

Thanks a lot.

P.S. Reesyboy - I was logging blocks 115, 120 and 003.
